The BD&L Specialist (she/he) will create and update as appropriate dedicated BD&L projects and ensure integrated enterprise alignment across Innovative Medicines (IM) Spain.

Your key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Support and analysis of business cases, term sheets and contractual revisions
• Support and management/organization of due diligence processes
• Coordination of contract revisions
• Support in coordinating Regional / local BD projects
• Serve as BD&L deal specialist in Spain, providing clear direction on asset portfolio strategic fit, and guiding commercial viability of deals
• Lead the evaluation and negotiation of new business opportunities
• Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to facilitate portfolio decision-making in the context of the country organization.
• Own project related strategic insights development and inform forecasting
• Leveraging relationships across the matrix to ensure assumptions and supporting rationale are well-understood

What you’ll bring to the role:
• At least 2 years of experience evaluating new product opportunities through BD&L, and or M&A.
• In-depth project knowledge /relevant therapeutic area experience / scientific background in at least one of the focus areas for Novartis, or track record to acquire required project expertise effectively and rapidly.
• Proven track record in influencing development plans and the ability to articulate and implement trade-offs between options; provide enterprise-wide thinking in decision-making.

Preferred:
• Minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical experience BD&L or Finance, either in-house at a pharmaceutical company or in a consulting capacity
• Understanding, knowledge of and experience with economics and the drivers of pharmaceutical demand
• Experience in market opportunity assessments and forecasting
• Comfort with multiple therapeutic areas
• Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills; equally comfortable “getting into the weeds” and synthesizing an executive summary
• High degree of emotional intelligence, adaptability and creativity
• Ability to navigate a matrixed organization and collaborate effectively, and consistently meet fast deadlines, even when operating with a high level of ambiguity
