The Business Development Manager (BDM) is part of the commercial team, and is responsible for driving the overall strategy and capability agenda to achieve and sustain accelerated growth of the Nordics Foods business (H1-3).
The jobholder envisions and develops a strategic roadmap (Portfolio, PPA, Channel, Insights) and leverages sector playbooks/teams (FSF, Perfect Store, AFH, eCom) to build a stronger business in close collaboration with the commercial team, BU experts and local distributors. He/she leads the negotiation of the distribution agreements on Snacks and Grains, and supports the Commercial Managers in constructing the commercial agreements on a market level. Having the long-term picture in mind, the BDM coordinates internal planning processes (ACP, PSP) and the annual meeting structure with external Snacks partner Royal Unibrew.
Responsibilities- Overall lead, coordinate and communicate the deployment of strategic roadmap/framework with a special focus on Portfolio (StG, market/brand), PPA (format, brand ladder), Channel (eCom, Discount, AFH, Traditional) and Insights (data needs)
- Build commercial capabilities of PEP/RUB partnership by leveraging PEP sector teams and playbooks (Perfect Store, AFH, others) and arrange training modules via the NE capability team.
- Lead negotiations of Foods distribution agreements with existing partners, ensuring alignment with broader Nordics and NE team on commercial priorities, support Commercial Managers with negotiation and set-up of commercial agreement on market level
- Coordinate internal planning processes ACP and PSP (focus on Snacks), in close collaboration with Commercial, (Shopper) Marketing, and Finance team
- Manage PEP/RUB annual meeting governance and key touchpoints throughout the year to strengthen relationship and foster best practice sharing across markets
- Coordinate input to enable Commercial Managers to create compelling trade stories (NPD, activation, etc.)
- Transform cross-functional input into strategic decks towards distributor (capabilities)
- Minimum 5 years FMCG experience preferably within a top 5 player with branded products
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Able to adapt approach depending on the audience, anticipating impact of words and actions, preparing for possible resistance and responding in an appropriate style, always demonstrating strong stakeholder management skills
- General knowledge of investment planning and project management; concepts and methods
