Amazon Consumables Private Brands is looking for a high performing, motivated Business Intelligence Engineer to support our business in developing new dashboards and internal-facing data products.

In this role you'll have the opportunity to deliver results using core AWS products including Redshift, Quicksight, S3, Sagemaker, EC2, Lambda and Glue.

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data warehouse, Business Intelligence reports, and analytics solutions.

You will work closely with stakeholders across multiple teams to understand their needs, and design and implement solutions that provide meaningful insights into the company's operations, trends, and performance.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and data models to support Business Intelligence and reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across multiple teams to understand business requirements and design and implement end to end solutions that meet their needs.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using visualization tools such as QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
  • Monitor data quality and ensure that data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data warehouses and ETL pipelines to ensure that queries run efficiently.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in Business Intelligence and data analytics.

A day in the life

We aim to work 70% of the time on Roadmap projects while the other 30% is dedicated to maintenance tasks and solving issues we could have in some of our data pipelines or data products.

Those data products can vary from QuickSight Dashboards to Web Applications or simple Excel Reports. As BIE, you'll support EU CPB specific needs and work on WW APB projects for Deals and Supply Chain.

You will collaborate very frequently with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, analyze them, design a solution, implement it and validating it with them, documenting all your work properly.

This team supports that by designing / building robust BI solutions that provide insights from complex datasets. We work with Big Data technologies to help understand "what happened" (reports, dashboards), "why did it happen" (bridges, deep-dives), "what will happen next" (forecasting) and "what is the next best move" (recommendations, optimization).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience in the data / BI space

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
