Job Description

As Country Manager Spain you will be responsible for the overall commercial performance of our Spanish consumer market delivering topline net ticket sales growth and ultimately revenue Reporting to the VP International youll lead a crossfunctional country operating team made up of dedicated Marketing Product Tech Supply and Data people to develop a differentiated commercial strategy and gotomarket plans as well as working with all marketing channels to build our brand

New competition on the Spanish rail network has led to customers increasing rail usage and prioritising greener travel choices Today we have a unique opportunity to develop our market position as the aggregator of choice building on the hypergrowth we saw in revenue last year Spain is one of our strongest growth markets in Europe and it will be your responsibility to set clear strategy and ensure OKRs are exceeded further developing our market engagement and reputation and helping realise our immense potential

Your key responsibilities include :

  • Defining the Spanish country strategy to maximise product market fit : at the heart of our growth lies a differentiated country strategy based on clear insight from both customer research and quantitative data as well as market intel Youll continually refine and adapt the existing strategy to ensure it is fit for purpose whilst working with Finance and Marketing to agree budgets for top line sales and marketing spend that optimises our chance at delivering success
  • Maintaining the Spanish GoToMarket plan to prioritise and drive Spanish marketing activities : with the help of a dedicated team youll create and execute a holistic marketing plan for Spain including all marketing activities as well as key internal drivers such as product launches and new supply opportunities You will aim to build the Trainline brand utilising all available marketing levers and ensure an ongoing prioritised plan around all communications to our customers
  • Having an indepth understanding of Trainline performance and opportunities : through a mix of extensive reporting and smart analytics you will understand Trainlines revenue performance at a granular level of detail surfacing important trends and insights on a regular basis and communicating these to Exec and Board level Leading the country operating team youll engage and excite the wider office around the company strategy and daytoday performance empowering quick decision making to take advantage of local market opportunities
  • Representing Trainline in the Spanish market : to build a strong locally respected brand

Qualifications

Were looking for creative big thinkers with small egos to achieve our ambitious plans You might be a smart datadriven commerciallyminded general manager looking for the next step in a business with meaningful growth and purpose or a hipo on a commercial fast track with an MBA or strong consulting background either way well support you in growing and developing your career to the highest level With outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills youll bring a strong strategic and analytical toolkit and good product sensibilities Youll have worked at pace in an entrepreneurial culture and have built marketleading teams ideally within an international consumerfacing digital or multichannel business

Key attributes should include :

Proven experience delivering revenue targets in a fastgrowing business preferably within B2C eCommerceA general management type understanding of all levers driving business performance in particular online and offline marketing and product developmentExcellent analytical skills with the ability to make sense of multiple sets of selfservice data as well as the ability to direct analysts for indepth followupsThe ability to synthesise multiple sources of information into a clear and compelling story focusing on what is most importantStrong leadership experience with an ability to influence across a business to C level as well as inspire people and creates high performing teamsExcellent relationship skills both inside and outside an organisation including with colleagues in different countriesExcellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and EnglishIdeally a combination of experience in consulting and industryExperience as a company representative in the wider marketplace
