IT- System Administrator* (d / m / w)
The Studentenwerk Potsdam serves approximately 33,000 students in Brandenburg an der Havel, Potsdam and Wildau within its area of responsibility.
As a public law institution, it acts as a university-independent, non-profit organization and is responsible for the economic and social support of students.
As part of its legal mandate, the Studentenwerk Potsdam operates a total of 12 dining halls and cafeterias as well as 18 student housing complexes.
The Studentenwerk Potsdam also implements the BAföG (student financial aid) with its office for educational support on behalf of the federal and state governments.
Students can also take advantage of social counseling, a psychosocial counseling center, and a job placement service. Various support services are also available to help students reconcile studying with raising children.
The Studentenwerk Potsdam provides financial support for cultural and student project ideas.
Your tasks
- Proactive management of system environments in-house as well as remote offices (fault analysis, troubleshooting, patching, monitoring and documentation) using tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, Graylog, Zammad, idoit.
- Testing, integration, implementation of implementation and optimization projects for various departments and also institutions;
in particular, application projects or new construction projects / IT-supported business processes in the context of digitization.
- Administration, installation, optimization and support of IT infrastructure (including : Clients, network LAN / WAN + Security (Cisco), VPN (Citrix), virtualized servers based on Windows 2019 as well as Linux (Debian / Ubuntu)).
- Administration, optimization, support of the data center HCI cluster via Nutanix, NAS, data backup and recovery using Veeam;
Citrix based thinclient terminal server environment with Citrix Netscaler as load balancer.
- Administration and optimization of a Windows-based Active Directory domain and connection services such as DHCP, DNS, WSUS, PKI, KMS and the like, as well as the on-premise Exchange Server 2019 environment.
- Depending on knowledge : administration, optimization, support of the VoIP PBX based on 3cx with SBC's and different terminals as well as SIP trunks.
- Depending on knowledge : Administration and troubleshooting of payment systems and processes based on CashControl within the clearing network.
- MDM via AppTec as well as administration and troubleshooting of mobile devices.
- Contact and coordination of service providers / cooperation partners, among others, for different specialist applications.
- Planning, conceptual design, implementation of IT procurements.
- Support of the services of the German Research Network for the Studentenwerk Potsdam.
- Documentation of the system environments
- Implementation of training and workshops for users
Your profile
With the following qualifications / skills you are well prepared for our tasks :
- Completed university studies in the field of business informatics / computer science or comparable IT training, e.g. as an IT specialist for system integration or digital networking.
- Very good experience in dealing with common protocols (eg TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP), routing, switching, security.
- very good experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, AD as well as attached services (WSUS, KMS, PKI) and Linux servers (Debian / Ubuntu) you should bring along.
- good knowledge in related areas such as servers, storage, security solutions, backup.
- Experience with IP / SIP based phone systems (e.g. 3cx), as well as web hosting (Plesk) / CMS (Typo3), JavaScript and an understanding of XML are a plus
- Experience in the field of virtualization, VMware o. Hyper-V o. Nutanix
- Experience in dealing with (Citrix based) Terminal Server / Thin Client environment (in conjunction with Citrix Netscaler) or comparable.
- Knowledge of batch and script programming (Powershell) is an advantage
- It would also be an advantage if you have already had points of contact with ECM, DMS and / or electronic payment systems
