We are currently hiring for an Architect and Backend Software Lead to lead the backend team in designing and developing our cloud-based platform used worldwide for single cell data analysis, and to set the technical direction for new products. This is an excellent opportunity to have a direct impact on accelerating cloud analytics that are helping researchers world-wide solve important problems in cancer research and other high impact diseases.

In this role you will:

  • Partner with the software development team during architecture and design phases including rapid prototyping to ensure the cloud-based data pipeline and web application are engineered to be optimized for performance, scalability and reliability. 
  • Act as a technical Software Lead and co-ordinate work for back-end team for the assigned software project execution, ensuring that the team is focused on the critical path to meeting user and business needs.  
  • Provide hands-on guidance to team members for software designs, coding and verification across unit/module/integration/system tests. 
  • Follow established best practices for software development standards and agile methodologies on estimation and backlog grooming. 
  • Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders up, down, and across the organization around software and system design as well as how proposed solutions meet business and user needs. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 12-15 years of experience with web technologies using Java and Ruby-on-Rails 
  • 5+ years on AWS (preferred AWS Solutions Architect certification) 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience developing regulated medical device software that strictly adheres to design controls and quality management system requirements (FDA CFR 820, ISO 13485) 
  • Experience with high performance computing for large datasets

The salary range for this role is $118K-$158K. . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
