At Insight we have an amazing opportunity for an Assistant Finance Manager to join the Finance department based in Madrid (our offices are in Alcobendas).
In this role, you will work for the country's Financial Managers for Spain and Italy to develop control and reconciliation skills for the group finance and learn international accounting and taxation.
You will also partner with your country's business and the commercial and other cross-functional teams (HR, marketing, legal and all other support teams) to deliver financial reports, identify cost-savings and improve processes.
Key duties and responsibilities :
- Prepare and review accounting records
- Conduct monthly P&L analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
- Review and approve non-trade purchase orders. Control non-trade invoices and expenses, including invoice review, coding, and supplier follow-up
- Understand and reconcile monthly local VAT declarations for Italy and Spain. Conduct regular reviews to identify potential areas for tax optimization and efficiency
- Report country finance performance, including weekly forecasts, monthly closing, and annual budget reviews
- Assist in organizing internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to accounting.
- Support the Financial Manager with other technical tasks for the Finance department.
- Work collaboratively as a team player
- Demonstrate the ability to work with a high degree of self-direction and flexibility, including taking initiative, prioritizing tasks, and using good judgment to resolve problems.
Qualifications :
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business administration or similar and further training as an Accountant
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting
- Advanced Excel user (will be tested)
- Fluent in English. Italian is a plus
- Understanding in SAP R / 3-FI
