Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine discovers and develops innovative medical solutions to address important unmet medical needs in Oncology, Immunology, Neuroscience, Cardiovascular, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Retina.

Within Integrated Data Analytics & Reporting (IDAR), the Regulatory Medical Writing team are recruiting for an Associate Medical Writing Scientist.

The Associate Medical Writing Scientist will support one or more of our therapeutic areas. You will join a larger cohort of writers undergoing internal training to author diverse regulatory Medical Writing documents.

This position is open globally and may be in North America (eg, Spring House, PA, Raritan, NJ, Titusville, NJ, or Canada), Europe (eg, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Bulgaria), or other countries.

Remote work options may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the company.

Principal Responsibilities :

  • Develops an understanding of clinical development and the Medical Writing role by assisting in the development of clinical and regulatory documents.
  • Prepares components of documents and basic documents such as tables of studies, patient narratives, protocol amendments, investigator brochure updates and addenda under supervision.
  • May assist with document QC, abbreviations, references, literature searches, table creation, and other tasks.
  • Learns how to interpret, summarize, and present statistical and medical information.
  • Learns to work in a matrix environment and gains an understanding of the Medical Writing responsibilities on project teams.
  • Attends cross-functional meetings with other writers as appropriate (eg, project kick-off and review meetings).
  • Learns and adheres to SOPs, templates, best practices, policies, and Medical Writing Style Guide.
  • Regularly meets with manager and mentors and attends departmental meetings.

Qualifications

  • A university / college degree in a scientific discipline is the minimum requirement, with an advanced degree (eg, Master’s degree, PhD, MD) preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to understand and summarize scientific data.
  • Ability to function in a team environment and to build solid and positive relationships with co-workers.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated learning agility.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of regulatory guidance documents such as ICH requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (eg, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • This position will require up to 10% travel.

For United States Applicants :

The anticipated base pay range for this position in the USA is 70,000 to 112,700 and for the San Francisco Bay Area, CA the base pay range is 81,000$ to 129,605.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.

The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar / performance year.

Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Employees and / or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs : medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.

Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits :

Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year.

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
