DirecciónWe are seeking an experienced and compassionate Child Development Psychologist / Therapist to join our team in Barcelona.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in conducting assessments and providing therapy for children with developmental disorders, including ADHD and autism spectrum disorders.
This position requires a deep understanding of child psychology, psychopedagogy, and occupational therapy techniques.
Tasks
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate children's cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning, with a particular focus on identifying ADHD and autism spectrum disorders.
- Administer standardized tests, observations, and interviews to gather relevant information about children's developmental history, strengths, and challenges.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators, and speech therapists, to coordinate assessments and develop holistic treatment plans for children.
- Provide evidence-based therapy and interventions tailored to meet the unique needs of each child and their family, with a focus on promoting social skills, self-regulation, and adaptive behavior.
- Offer guidance and support to parents and caregivers, empowering them to implement strategies and techniques that enhance their child's development and well-being.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessment findings, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with professional standards and legal regulations.
- Stay current with advances in child psychology, psychopedagogy, and occupational therapy research, integrating new knowledge and best practices into clinical work.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, with specialization in Child Development or clinical psychology.
- Licensed or certified Psychologist in Spain, with a minimum of 3 years of experience conducting assessments and therapy with children.
- Extensive knowledge of developmental disorders, including ADHD and autism spectrum disorders, and proficiency in diagnostic assessment tools and techniques.
- Strong understanding of psychopedagogy principles and educational interventions for children with special needs.
- Experience collaborating with occupational therapists and other professionals to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with children and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, Catalan and Spanish are a plus.
- Commitment to ethical practice, cultural competence, and continuous quality improvement in child psychology and therapy services.
