Data and Innovation Analyst Roles and Responsibilities :

We are seeking a Data and Innovation Analyst within our Internal Audit team located at Allentown, Pennsylvania, or Cornella, Spain (Barcelona).

The team is seeking a business intelligence professional with a passion to source, analyze, and model data. The Internal Audit (IA) function at Air Products has responsibility to perform risk assessments and provide independent assurance via planned audits and advisory work for the entire company.

Additionally, IA acts as the SOX PMO for the company. Areas of coverage include finance, operations, engineering, IT, and cybersecurity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering on data analytics use cases in risk assessments and audit execution.

Key areas of ownership for the candidate include :

Deliver on analytics on audits and advisory projects Liaising with members of the global audit team to identify potential projects / audits that could benefit from increased assurance or efficiency through the use of data analytics.

Identifying key risk factors, appropriate data sources, and efficient tools / methods to analyze & test the data. Establishing repeatable and sustainable analytic methods for areas of high or pervasive risks.

Identifying use cases for creation and deployment of RPA / bots.

  • Support annual risk assessment Identifying and procuring data to support calibration of risk factors, operations, and trends during the annual risk assessment cycle, in order to support creation of the audit plan.
  • Contribute to the Continuous Improvement (CI) initiative for Data Analytics Participating in the cross-functional project team that focuses on increasing the effectiveness of DA and augmenting the use of tools / automation across the IA function.
  • Training and development of audit team members Organizing hands on training for the department on programming and analytics on tools such as Qlik and ACL.

Required Skills / Abilities :

  • Minimum of 2 years Internal Audit experience required.
  • Experience with connecting to data sources, performing analytics, creating models, and delivering efficiency through the use of automation.
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
  • Creative, innovative, and with the ability to function well in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Programming and data analytics skills in platforms such as SQL, Qlik, Python, R, Tableau, or ACL.
  • Experience in the use of data science libraries and cloud technologies.
  • Prior experience in a risk, compliance, or audit domain.
  • Hands on experience identifying use cases, creating, and deploying instances of RPA / bots a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP transactions & flows, and expertise with SAP tables a plus.

Education Requirements :

Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or Business Analytics required.
