To direct, manage and support the development, implementation, maintenance, and administration of financial controls, based upon a maximization of internal control techniques consistent with Group corporate management established policy and generally accepted accounting principles, as adapted to the requirements of the hotel s management contract and other local legal requirements.
To implement and maintain acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group s policy, generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP), and as adapted to the requirements of the hotel s management contract and other local legal requirements.
To ensure compliance to terms and conditions of the hotel s management contract, with regard to provisions relating to the company s responsibilities as the managers and bringing any discrepancies to the immediate attention of the General Manager and group corporate management.
To be actively involved in the search for opportunities to improve the profitability of the hotel and encourage the preparation of exception reports and analyses to help meet and measure the success of this objective.
To manage, supervise and support all subordinate employees, with a view to optimizing the profitability of the hotel and improving the guest experience.
To initiate employee development and evaluation programs for all subordinate staff to ensure the highest level of professional competence and efficient continuity within those positions.
To organize an efficient treasury function to provide proper management of the hotel s working capital and cash flow in accordance with Group corporate management minimum guidelines and within the requirements of the hotel s management contract.
Also, to ensure excessive investment is not made in receivables or inventories and that sufficient liquidity is maintained to meet the hotel s obligations.
To ensure all financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and other information required by Group Corporate management are accurately compiled and submitted within the specified time limits, identifying variances, and making recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
To design internal reporting systems as required by the department, the hotel and corporate office. To ensure adequate controls are installed and maintained for the protection of the hotel s assets against loss or misappropriation.
Requisitos : Requirements. Bachelor s degree in accounting, finance or hospitality management At least five years of Financial Controller experience, preferably in hospitality accounting operations.
Luxury hotel experience preferred. Ability to generate all financial reports, including profit & loss statement, income statement, etc.
Strong communication skills in English and Spanish, both verbal and written to address all levels within the organization and ability to gain consensus.
Demonstrated ability to assess and understand a variety of internal and external economic and financial issues which impact the business, to analyze data and forecast future business trends, and to develop effective financial plans based on businesses assessments.
Demonstrated knowledge of Finance, budgeting, and accounting processes and regulations, along with demonstrated knowledge of capital projects management standards and techniques and local GAAP regulations and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to scope a project and develop a plan of action, ability to influence others, present convincing arguments and deal with conflicting viewpoints.
Prioritization skills necessary to meet deadlines. Strong presentation skills. Effective management, leadership, organization, and communication skills.
