Emergency Medical Responders & Technicians (EMR|EMT)

The Town of Canterbury is seeking experienced and motivated EMR / EMT / FF-EMT for a small rural fire-based ambulance service.

Responsibilities :

• Treat and transport injured or sick individuals to area hospitals
• Determine the nature and extent of illness or injuries and render first aid
• Administer medical treatment and medications at the site of the emergency, or in a specially equipped ambulance
• Monitor radio communications and maintain contact with the dispatch center
• Communicate with medical personnel at emergency treatment facilities
• Drive emergency vehicles while adhering to state laws and fire department regulations

Qualifications :

• Previous experience as an EMR or EMT
• Knowledge of first and CPR procedures
• Ability to stay calm in stressful situations
• Ability to prioritize and multitask

Optional Minimal Qualifications :

• Firefighter I
• Q-Certification
• Apparatus Pumping Experience (OJT available)

This is a 24 / 7 service with :

• Flexible Schedule
• 12 and 24-hour Day / Night / Weekend shifts available.
• Candidates must be willing to work some Saturdays or Sundays

Starting pay : $15 hr for EMR / $17 hr for EMT

There is room for expansion to FF / EMT @ $19+ hr
