Position Overview

The Program Buyer is in charge of managing the sourcing activities for the relevant current and new programs.

This position requires a strong interface with our Business Units and manufacturing plants located all across Europe (in Germany, France, UK, Italy, Spain, South Africa and Russia) together with all commodity buyers


Key tasks

  • Support sourcing of externally sourced commodities by coordinating information flow between program team and commodity purchasing and creating a sourcing calendar from official program program.
  • Control Costed bom for related programs
  • Organise and lead weekly RFQ/ECN meetings with commodity purchasing.
  • Achieve Material Cost Reduction in working together with commodity buyer to define technical optimisation and commercial leverage
  • Support Advanced RFQ Phase with Sales by sending RFQ to supply base and generate costed BOM
  • Purchase order administration and maintenance
  • Support operational functions in solving supplier quality and logistic issues

Key Requirements:

  • Business degree or combined engineering and business degree (or equivalent)
  • Ideally Technical background and/ or purchasing experience (+2 years)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Teamoriented and able to work independently
  • Proficiency in English, a second foreign language is preferable
  • Very good MS Office Knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project and Access)
