We, the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut,
area federal scientific institution that is responsible for thetesting and approval of vaccines and biomedical drugs and conductsresearch in the field of life sciences.
Networking with nationaland international stakeholders makes us a competent point ofcontact for the public, science, medicine, politics and industry.
Your tasks
- Operation, adaptation and further development of the internalEthernet network
- Administration,configuration and monitoring of network transitions and externalcommunication relationships (firewalls, external e-mail servers,De-Mail gateway)
- Installation,administration and maintenance of central IT systems (databasesunder Oracle and MS SQL Server, UNIX / Linux systems, web andapplication servers, e.
g. Apache HTTP, Apache Tomcat, Wildfly)
- Monitoring of internal and external systemsand services using the "Icinga" monitoring software
- Diagnosis and rectification of network and applicationproblems
- Support in the implementation andfurther development of IT security concepts
- Administration, maintenance & care of cross-sectional ITapplications
- User support (2nd / 3rd levelsupport)
Our requirements
- Completed vocational training asan IT specialist (m / f / d) for system integration, bachelor's degreein computer science or business informatics or comparable relevantvocational training in the IT sector
- Severalyears of professional experience of at least 3 years in the fieldof IT infrastructure is required
- Knowledgeand experience in one or more of the following areas :
- Network technologies, network administration and networkarchitectures
- Configuration and operation offirewalls
- Administration, operation andfurther development of Linux (e.g. RedHat, SUSE) and Windows serverlandscapes
- Administration of databases underOracle and / or MS SQL Server
- Knowledge in the field of IT security, in particular ITbaseline protection according to BSI standard desirable
- Process-oriented approach, independent and diligent wayof working
- Very good knowledge of German (atleast C1 level), good knowledge of English (at least B1 level)desirable
