Job Description
Operational finance team is critical to provide top class project accounting support to AECOM’s operations teams across all end markets. The team provides financial insight and technical accounting support to help the company to deliver financially viable projects and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
The Spanish finance team have the opportunity to hire a Finance Business Partner to become part of our amazing office in Madrid .
Reporting to the Finance Director for Spain & Sweden, and working closely with the Business Unit leadership teams, the Financial Business Partner will be responsible for bring insights and analysis from a finance perspective into the business decision-making process.
The role will build strong relationships with key stakeholders in our business and will provides a comprehensive Business Partnering service to the operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering with Project Managers, Project Delivery Teams and Senior Operations Management.
Become trusted partner with Ops teams to help unlock complex financial issues.
Ensure Visual Management systems (tracker, dashboards…) are effectively used to highlight and improve performance levels.
Produce relevant management reports, gap analysis and co-create improvement plans with the operation team.
Build cost models to forecast and predict cost developments in the End Markets with the aim of mitigating risks.
Analyze and understand the cost drivers and take ownership of SG&A reporting.
Contribute and help deliver on cost saving plans with assigned operations team.
Month end close, including project revenue adjustments, WIP and loss provision analysis.
Ensure consistent application of accounting standards and support Ops teams in understanding of documentation requirements to support SOX compliance.
Project Commercial & Bid Support.
Monitor project performance and key indicators.
Support Business as required in understanding project performance.
Understand the commercial and billing requirements of projects, including complex issues.
Other functions when required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or related science is required and relevant experience of operational finance within a project’s environment. Ideal candidates have a minimum of 6-year experience in a similar role, preferably in a multinational environment.
Proficient in MS Excel.
Spanish and English fluent, both written and spoken, are required.
Strong analytical & problem-solving skills is essential.
Ability to manage details but also understand the “big picture”.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Identifies and executes initiatives and continuous improvements.
Ability to take initiative and ownership.
