About the Role :
As a company, RWE is well placed for the Offshore Wind (OW) market, with established growth targets in floating as part of the Growing Green roadmap towards carbon neutral by 2040.
The delivery of RWE’s future FOW pipeline across the different regions, would depend on achieving economies of scale for the production and manufacturing of the floating structures.
On such basis, RWE has set up a central department for Floating Engineering and Industrialization (FE&I) in the Offshore Engineering global function.
The FE&I department supports the delivery of RWE floating projects and includes the assessment of the floating foundation site suitability as well as the Industrialization to facilitate decisions on project-region basis as well as down selection in general.
Key responsibilities :
Manage and support mooring and platform design studies covering all the design phases from preliminary conceptual design to detailed design, certification, fabrication, and commissioning, as well as mooring related items in accordance with in-house engineering, Q&A, Risk Assessment and HSSE procedures
Coordinate design interfaces, prepare and define technical inputs for platform & mooring CAPEX estimates, in collaboration with other functions
Oversee the Floating Offshore Solar technology landscape and build up the technology databases at corporate level
Identify and propose potential cost reduction measures to ensure efficiency and actively look for alternatives, including innovation, to reduce the costs
Support the management of pilot and demonstration projects related to floating solar by providing technical inputs and assessing the outcomes
Your Profile :
Master Degree or relevant equivalent in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Naval Architecture, or related subject (such as Aeronautics, Industrial, Electromechanical or comparable fields)
2+ years of industry experience in relevant field, particularly on floating foundations, or similar industry
Knowledge of technical standards and industry practice across the different disciplines associated with floating designs is desirable, preferably within the field of offshore wind
Confident in the use of Advanced MS Office package and MS Project
Knowledge of OrcaFlex or similar design tool is desirable alongside Python and-or Matlab
Enjoys working in an international diverse working environment. Open minded and self-reflective
Good organizational skills and experience of project lifecycles
Willing to travel domestically and internationally
Fluency in spoken and written English
