Your mission :
As a React Native Developer, you will play a pivotal role in developing our educational gamification app from the ground up.
This app is aimed at captivating students by allowing them to read books, complete interactive exercises, and navigate through a gamified educational pathway.
Your expertise will be crucial in turning conceptual design ideas into functional and engaging mobile experiences.
Yout daily tasks at Fiction Express :
- Lead the development of a responsive and user-friendly mobile app using React Native, tailored specifically for educational gamification.
- Collaborate closely with backend developers for seamless integration with the Django REST API services.
- Ensure the application’s performance and user experience are optimized across different devices and platforms.
- Partner with UX / UI designers to implement visual design intent accurately.
- Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both iOS and Android platforms.
- Implement clean, maintainable, and efficient code to develop scalable and robust features.
- Conducting code reviews for peers and junior developers, providing guidance, and mentoring team members in React and frontend best practices.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in the React Native landscape as well as emerging trends in mobile development.
What do we expect from you?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid experience in mobile app development using React Native.
- Proficient understanding of web technologies (such as HTML5 and CSS3).
- Experience with popular React workflows (such as Flux or Redux).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect React Native applications to backend services.
- Deep understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
- Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript and its nuances.
- Experience with automated testing suites, like Jest or Detox.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform well in a team.
- Strong attention to detail with a knack for visual design and utility.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in developing educational or gamified applications.
- Knowledge of Python and Django.
- Web design basic notions.
- At least a B2 English level.

Meet the People & Culture Team : 30-45 minutes of conversation where you can learn more about Fiction Express, your role, and what you can expect from your experience here.

- Meet Your Manager : 30 minutes interview with the CTO. You can discuss your role, and the manager will evaluate your skills.
- Technical Test (offline) : We will send you a case related to your role. This is focused on the hard skills and the knowledge needed to perform in the role.
- Review of the Technical Test (online) : Together, we will review your code, and we'll ask you technical questions related to the project and your development.
- Meet our team : 30 minutes of conversation with someone from our team. You will have the opportunity to meet other people from Fiction.
