Responsibilities

The Opportunity 

Development and execution of Packaging Projects related with Innovation, Productivity and/or DTV agenda within the organization focused on Local PBF agenda, based on our Global PEP+ Guidelines and Local Regulations; also be able to provide technical support and guidance to all areas involved in these processes, since idea generation to project implementation.

The R&D Packaging Engineer supports the packaging manager in all medium/high complexity packaging projects for PepsiCo Brazil Foods Operating Unit - PepsiCo foods division.

The 2024 R&D South America packaging budget is around USD 210M and the Packaging Engineer will lead packaging projects, and will support the packaging manager to deliver initiatives to cover Innovation,  Productivity and/or DTV programs.

Furthermore, this professional will be involved on packaging specification process, new materials approval and flawless lift and adapt/shift technologies from global packaging team to countries across the region.

Your Impact 

As Gerente de Projetos your responsibilities would consist of:

  • Development of Specifications, Procedures, and Processes for raw materials and new products.
  • Development of Technical Solutions for raw materials and finished products to comply with PwP and Local Regulations.
  • Responsible of development and launch of new materials, equipment and/or line extensions.
  • Identify functional properties of materials, as well as development and support of new analytical technics to determine them.
  • Identify opportunity areas to develop Continuous Improvement projects to enhance quality of materials, equipment and products, to achieve consumer preference whilst fully aligning to product design.
  • Guarantee quality consistency and operational feasibility of our products.
  • Technical support to all involved in the processes of our materials and products.
  • Elaborate technical reports and generate recommendations for Innovation & Productivity.
  • Define and control Budget, according to AOP.
  • To lead Revenue Management, Quality Improvement and/or Sustainability projects;
  • To identify project and business needs and address it though packaging platforms;
  • To map internal and external packaging technologies available;
  • To develop technical assessments;
  • To develop new co-man with Multifunctional team.
  • To support technically local teams;
  • To build timelines regarding the packaging development stream and input to the team
  • To run trials in plant;
  • To lead and assess shipment tests;
  • To issue trial reports;
  • To lead conversations with suppliers;
  • To support the source site during new packaging implementation;
  • To support the revenue management and quality assessments;
  • To carry out packaging risk assessment
  • To build specifications
  • To develop mechanical drawings
  • To produce mockups for research
  • To carry out TSG
  • To support the operation and procurement team in productivity projects
  • To support the Trade marketing team in sales promotion and revenue management portfolio
  • To know-how to operate SAP
  • Travel to the different plant / co man / sites of PepsiCo in Latam South.
Qualifications

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Engineering: Materials, Chemical, Foods, Production or Mechanical. Technology/Science or related scientific subject.
  • Intermediate English and Spanish, desired.
  • Minimum of 2 years working within Packaging Function.
