We are currently seeking a skilled GIS Analyst fluent in English to join our client's team. As an expert in Geographic Information Systems, you will have the opportunity to work remotely while closely collaborating with a major client's IT team on-site.
In this role, you will be integrated into the company's team, contributing your expertise to impactful projects.
Your Tasks :
- Design and develop GIS architecture components and building blocks.
- Perform raster data analysis and modeling to characterize transport infrastructure and integrate large geo-databases into routing tools.
- Assist with the deployment and configuration of GIS solutions.
- Manage the technical interfaces between users and GIS developers.
- Analyze the integration of GIS capabilities across different information systems, with a focus on efficiently embedding large databases into the GIS architecture.
Requirements
- University degree in IT or a relevant discipline, combined with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in using one or more programming languages, such as Python, C, C++, R, or Java.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience using specialized software like QGIS, ArcGIS, or similar platforms to implement GIS solutions for transport policy modeling.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with geo-spatial databases representing European transport networks, such as GTFS / NeTEx and TomTom MultiNet.
- Working experience with geo-referenced transport network datasets.
- Proven experience working with large spatial and statistical datasets.
- Proficiency in QGIS, including Python scripting and Geospatial Data Abstraction Library (GDAL) embedded use.
- Experience with MATLAB, including relevant toolboxes.
- Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with Java and visual basic applications (VBA).
- Good knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, including extensions for network and spatial analysis (considered an asset).
- Good understanding of cloud computing interfacing (considered an asset).
- Familiarity with web-based user interface development, such as Spring and JSF (considered an asset).
- Good knowledge of JavaScript development frameworks, such as Angular 2 (considered an asset).
- Proficiency in relational databases management and data integration frameworks, such as JPA (considered an asset).
- Familiarity with object-relational mapping, such as the Java Persistence API (JPA) (considered an asset).
- Familiarity with visualization frameworks like D3.js, Matplotlib / GeoPandas / Python, Flourish, kepler.gl, MapBox, PowerBI, etc.

- Working experience with transport demand datasets and econometrics tools / libraries (considered an asset).
- Excellent command of the English language.
