Flowserve Engineering is forming a team dedicated to the improvement of the organizations ability to design, procure, manufacture and test centrifugal pumps reliably (Flowserve Pump Division). The team and program will be permanent positions focused solely on supporting the execution and fulfillment of orders for Flowserve pump products. Two positions are to be created to drive initiatives to standardize out methods in production and testing our centrifugal pump portfolio.

Role Summary:

This position will support the procurement and sourcing of critical castings and components for centrifugal pump products. They will drive the standardization of practices for sourcing and processing hydraulic castings for pump construction. In addition, they will lead the development of inspection methodology, techniques and procedures worldwide and provide guidance for dispositioning non-conforming components.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive a culture based on Flowserve’s values and behaviors: people, safety, integrity, innovation, ownership and excellence

  • Ensure product safety and regulatory compliance through implementation of rigorous design control procedures, protocols and inspection methods

  • Foster cooperation between supply chain, product engineering, quality, and order engineering departments with respect to the execution of orders

  • Formalize and document corporate standards and methods for hydraulic casting procurement and processing for orders

  • Work with all departments to incorporate these standards globally and ensure they are followed

  • Through adherence to engineering standards and processes, this engineer will perform troubleshooting and detailed reviews of hydraulic components to help support on time delivery and quality

  • Manages multiple projects involving complex designs and components, including oversight of support resources, and seeking guidance from technical specialists

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Knowledge of mechanical design including fluid dynamics, mechanics of materials, drawing and machining practices, and modern manufacturing techniques

  • 10+ years of engineering experience with supply chain related to turbomachinery with experience of large centrifugal pumps castings used in the power, desalination, Oil and Gas, and/or chemical industries

  • Knowledge and understanding of 2D and 3D CAD drafting and modeling

  • Extensive knowledge of the casting industry, foundry processes, inspection methods (dimensional and nondestructive examination)

  • In depth knowledge of centrifugal pump design

  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills

  • Good organizational skills and ability to independently manage multiple and conflicting priorities

  • Accountability and execution for completing work timely

  • Ability to work individually and in a team-oriented environment

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% worldwide
