About the Job
The Global Head of Data Platform (f/m/d) plays a pivotal role in driving Straumann Group's transformation into a data-driven organization through the ownership and management of the central Global Data Platform. This platform is a critical component of the data infrastructure, supporting the decentralized data architecture model and contributing to the overall digital transformation of the organization.
The role holder will be responsible for the strategic development, operations, and optimization of the Global Data Platform to ensure its alignment with business objectives and the facilitation of Data-driven decision-making across the Straumann Group.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Ownership and Strategy
• Own and define the strategic direction of the Global Data Platform in alignment with the organization's overall goals.
• Develop and implement a roadmap for the continuous enhancement and evolution of the platform.
Platform Development and Operations
• Oversee the end-to-end development life cycle of the Data Platform, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of the platform to meet the growing data needs of the organization.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, IT professionals, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the Global Data Platform aligns with business and compliance needs.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization
• Implement monitoring mechanisms to track platform performance and data quality.
• Identify opportunities for optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost-effectiveness.
Governance and Compliance
• Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure the quality, security, and privacy of Data.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data regulations and industry standards.
About you
Requirements for this role are:
Education
• Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, data science, or closely related domain
Experience
• 10+ years of experience in information technology, preferably in a data-related role
• 5+ years of hands-on data experience in designing, and maintaining Data Platforms
• Experience in the design and development of analytical system landscapes
• Strong knowledge of Data engineering and the design of pipelines and ETL processes
• Hands-on analytics experience and knowledge of standard analytics tools
• Deep understanding of the operational dependencies of applications, networks, systems, security, and policies
• Data Quality Management and Data Architecture standardization experience
