About the Role:
This role is a part of our Indirect procurement organization for Manufacturing sites. In the role you will be responsible for a team of approximately 20 associates who are leading all Warehousing & Distribution projects across the globe.
As the Global Procurement Head for Warehousing & Distribution, you are the main Novartis contact for suppliers and are responsible, end-to-end, for maximizing materials and service value throughout the chain. You need to ensure complete material / service and supplier oversight, drive material/service & supplier strategy, year over year net savings / spend reduction, performance improvements, innovations and standardization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive long term service & supplier strategy (including supplier relationship management) and year over year net savings
• Accountable for productivity/cost efficiency of Warehousing & Distribution spend
• Support implementation of Warehousing & Distribution projects across categories & functions, ensure key stakeholders alignment and customer satisfaction
• Define category strategy, ensuring end to end material/service and supplier oversight
• Define resource plan & budget; aligning and endorsing the category strategies, preparing material/service/supplier short- and long-term strategic roadmaps
• Manage escalations for most critical disruptions.
• Provide technical expertise in area of responsibility, coordinate across functions and leadership teams
• Lead and develop the team, including defining clear objectives & measurable targets.
• Managing data analysis and reporting, e.g. analyzing spend, demand, supply markets and competitors. Extracting, cleansing and consolidating information to fact-based insights for further usage e.g. in category strategies.

Essential Requirements:
• University/Advanced degree needed (MBA, PhD preferred) – logistics, supply chain, procurement, engineering or similar.
• Preferably at least 10 years of experience in Procurement or other related experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Knowledge of warehouse & distribution category is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of technical operations management experiences.
• Strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. strong project management skills
• Communications, results driven, resilience and entrepreneurial mindset
• Problem-solving mindset, to manage issues and find new savings opportunities.
• Ability to navigate within transforming environment and ambiguity
• Excellent spoken and written business English is a must.
