Your role and work environment:
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Head of Market Risk to join our Risk Team
Manage and supervise the operation of Market Risk Department in terms of interest rate risk management, liquidity management and behavioral modelling within the policies/procedures established by regulators, ING Bank N.V., and ING Bank Spain in order to ensure that potential losses to the Bank due to changes in market conditions are within the admissible limits.
Your key responsibilities:
As Head of Market Risk, you will:
Ensure that adequate limits to manage interest rate and liquidity risk are set and approved on at least annual basis by local ALCO and that resulting Market Risks are properly calculated, reported, and managed in order to keep the potential losses due to changes in market conditions (interest and foreign exchange rates, credit spreads, behavioral assumptions) within admissible limits.
Inform the relevant committees about the Market Risk position of the Bank and propose the management actions in order to allow senior management to steer the Business according to Strategy within the earlier agreed risk appetite statement.
Ensure that Market Risks are understood and taken forward by various parties in the Bank. Implement forward looking Market Risk management approach (strong planning, sensitivity analysis, RAS forecasting) and ensure development/ maintenance of Market Risk models in order to adapt smoothly to the fast changing internal/external environment and ultimately save money for the Bank. Coordinate the work of the Market Risk management team with strong focus on people management in order to grow motivation, competencies and professional development of the team members. Ensure continued compliance with regulatory requirements & ING Bank policies and minimum standards. Evaluate proposals from the first line including PARP proposals. Ensure proper modelling of the balance sheet including risk transfer to GT.

An experienced professional with an up-to-date understanding of financial risk management:
Academic degree, preferably in Economics, Econometrics, or quantitative Finance
Completed additional professional qualifications in the financial risk field such as CFA, FRM or PRMIA, alternatively willingness to pursue such a degree.
At least 7 years of relevant experience in the financial risk, ALM, Finance or Treasury area, of which at least 3 years of experience in Market Risk management of a banking book. Fully up to date on the latest risk management developments in this area.
Experience and affinity with the agile way of working.
People manager with proven ability regarding coaching, development and performance management
Experience in being a sparring partner/advisor to Senior Management
Additionally, you should have:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail, translating complex matters into simple and concise terms for senior management.
Result-driven and able to push things forward in a persistent and constructive manner.
The ability to challenge the status quo.
Great team player skills with a hand-on mentality
And of course, you should be fluent in English.
