Home Office Construction Manager

You'll be

  • Review / support the development of mechanical data sheets, specifications and technical requisitions for enquiry or purchase for static / heat transfer equipment to project criteria.
  • Lead HO Construction activities for FEED and large EPCm Projects. Interaction with the rest of Project Departments; Engineering, Procurement, HSE,QA / QC, Project Control, etc.

Develop Construction Plan, Constructability, Construction sequence, Subcontracting Strategy, Construction Procedures, Erection plans, Logistic and Temporary Facilities requirements.

  • Review / support technical bid evaluations and technical tabulation for static / heat transfer equipment, providing recommendations regarding type or technology selection to meet design criteria.
  • Perform and review mechanical calculations for static / heat transfer equipment.
  • Conduct or moderate contractor and vendor communications and technical meetings.
  • Develop and manage material requisitions and specifications, including supplier data review.
  • Provide technical support during technical queries or clarification issues, as required.
  • Coordinate efforts with the design team in the selection and specification of static / heat transfer equipment during BED, FEED and detailed design stages in collaboration with other disciplines.
  • Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system and other Worley internal systems, practices and procedures.
  • Responsible for personal safety, safe working practices, understanding and following OH&S procedures.
  • Accountable for technical inputs to project execution strategies for alignment with disciplines and technical requirements.
  • Ensure that all applicable Environmental and Process Safety technical policies and standards related to the area of intervention are fully implemented within all project scopes.
  • Support project / area manager of complex demands to arrive at optimum, cost-effective solutions and designs.
  • Resolve complex technical and administrative challenges, such as stabilising priorities, varying technical requirements, and tight project schedule / deadlines within the discipline area.
  • Contribute during technical risk assessments and value engineering improvement, as well as anticipated challenges for projects and propose mitigation solutions using technical knowledge, good design practices and / or lessons learnt.

You'll have

  • BSc. Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Process or Industrial
  • English and Spanish at professional proficiency levels are a must.
  • Minimum of 12 years related industry experience, including as minimum; +8 Years proven design experience in the Oil & Gas sector and proven design experience in the Energy and / or Chemicals sector.
  • Preparation and review of equipment specification, technical and commercial evaluation, and other technical documentation related to static and heat transfer equipment.
  • Supervision of a team of mechanical engineers to perform engineering works in accordance with broad technical guidelines and project criteria.

Technical Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of international codes and standards, such as ASME, API, ISO, ASTM and EN, among others.
  • Good level of computer literacy, including Autocad, 3D, Office365 software, sharing platforms, such as- SharePoint and OneDrive, and communicational tools, such as Outlook and Teams.

Soft Skills

  • Ability to quote, handle and optimize resources, including personnel and time budgets.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines / schedules and prioritise activities to achieve them.
  • Ability to communicate, present and report effectively in English and Spanish, verbal and written.
