JOB SUMMARY: To be a strategic HR Business Partner for Advanta US based leaders to develop and execute HR strategies while focusing on talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning and employee engagement. The HRBP will plan, coordinate, and direct the HR functions of the company including, but not limited to; talent acquisition, the onboarding and off-boarding of employees, training, labor law compliance, culture, and employee relations. As part of the Leadership Team, this person will consult the team in strategic human capital planning and budgeting. The HRBP will serve as a link between the company’s management team and its employees and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide HR consulting and support to the business as it relates to Human Resources programs and policies, often encompassing several areas of Human Resources, including recruiting, university relations, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, organization development, workplace compliance and training.

· In collaboration and cooperation with Business Unit Head, understand the business landscape and add inputs from HR on business activities within the US Leadership Team.

· Work alongside business & function managers and their teams to create the HR strategy for their unit or area and ensure that the people, organization, capability and cultural challenges and implications of alternative strategies are understood and used in decision making.

· Work with business managers and their teams to deliver objective setting, annual performance appraisals, ratings calibration, performance development plans and performance improvement plans, where needed.

· Be accountable for recruiting/hiring process by developing new requisitions, drafting/proofreading job descriptions, attend intake and debrief meetings, conducting phone interviews, reviewing resumes, scheduling onsite interviews, preparing offer letters and onboarding of an employee.

· Be accountable for employee development, including conducting talent reviews, support in creating succession plans, development/execution of training needs, etc.

· Be accountable for employee and labor relations: assist with processing employee grievances, workplace compliances as per the local compliance standards & labor laws.

· Drive the desired culture within the functional organizations in line with the values of the organization, support culture and engagement survey interventions and action planning efforts for the functions.

· In partnership with Corporate HR, business unit teams, drive a culture of safety and well-being.

· Implement & ensure compliance with local standards, rules, tools, policies, and processes related to HR operations.

· Responsible for updating and reporting HRIS systems such as ADP and SuccessFactors

· Support implementation of HR Programs/ initiatives related to continuous productivity improvement for the business.

· Responsible for all Immigration paperwork process of H1b, L1 etc

· Provide support to employees on various HR-related topics and respond to routine questions such as benefits, payroll, vacation, FMLA/STD/LTD, Wellness Programs, Workers Comp, Employee Appreciation, Performance Management, etc.

· Responsible for people related cost budget preparation and monitor it: Salaries, Benefits, etc. Partnering with finance team.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or business-related field required.

• 5-7 years’ experience in Human Resources, Benefits, Immigration, Employee Relations, and Safety, ideally within life science/ biotechnology background.

• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

• Extensive and progressive HR Business Partner experience within multiple HR disciplines (i.e. compensation, recruiting, talent management and development), knowledge of HR practices (i.e. organizational design and change management) and experience managing and developing high performing teams.

• Proficient knowledge and experience using MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, SuccessFactors, ADP and other HRIS systems.

• PHR/SPHR Active Certification a must / OSHA Certification desirable.

• Knowledge of Local, State and Federal Labor Laws in various states (TX, KS, UT).

• Flexible and adaptable with an ability to perform in a rapidly changing, dynamic, and growing work environment.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.

• Must be company focused and take initiative to resolve problems.

• Ability to build partnerships with various teams both internally and externally.

• Strong verbal, written, and cross-culture communication skills, with an emphasis on interpersonal and group communication skills.

• Strong orientation to quality, continuous improvement, and customer service.

• Must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail with accuracy and proven ability to multitask.

• Must possess strong time management and organizational skills.

• Leadership & management experience preferred.

· N/A

 

TRAVEL – Approximately 10% - to attend training, meetings, site visits, etc.
