DirecciónPPG is in search of an IT Business Analyst-Digital Solutions to collaborate with business units or functional groups to clarify and communicate business requirements, assuring products and services are aligned with business needs.
You will become business or function specialist, can be technology generalists or specialists, providing an array of services such as business process improvement, priority-setting facilitation, project definition or design, and broker IT and contract services.
3+ years of experience in IT, business process, or consulting roles required. A strong understanding of how IT affects an organization and ability to link it to redesigned business processes.
Good technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to the business.
Position Description
IT Business Analyst demonstrates the ability to clearly express and share ideas and risks both verbally and written, in a positive and effective manner to the supervisor and team members.
Effective in communicating status to the team. Has a clear understanding of policies and procedures and how they align with the overall IT organization.
Is able to be effective with less supervision. Normal focus is on existing products or processes but may be involved in new initiatives.
IT Business Analyst is seen as an individual contributor within their team. Competent at managing their time, has interpersonal and collaboration skills.
IT Business Analyst does not manage other individuals but is requiring less direct supervision. As an individual contributor IT Business Analyst is considered a member of a group or team and expected to deliver consistent results with less direction and supervision.
IT Business Analyst works on larger tasks which could be isolated or involve collaboration with a larger group. The contribution is measured by the ability to complete the work assigned to them, as well as, the success of team.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ability to rapidly assimilate assigned business area's products and processes
- Knowledge and experience in gathering requirements, functional design, testing and working with business processes
- Understanding of how IT affects an organization and ability to link it to redesigned business processes
- Good technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to the business
- Solid understanding of software development and release methodologies (Waterfall, Agile) within assigned area (or comparable experience)
- Ability to build business relationships with individual business and technical team members within assigned business area
- Networks with other PPG Analysts to understand how IT solutions are deployed in other areas to solve business problems
- Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to learn quickly to develop effective working relationships across a diverse team of functional, technical, and business partners
- Possess strong problem solving skills and able to discuss potential solutions with your Supervisor prior to review with business personnel
- Foundational knowledge of PPG Project Management practices and application
- Ability to lead and deliver small projects
- Ability to support software delivery as needed with specifications, user stories development and acceptance testing
Qualifications :
- A four year degree or higher in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Chemistry, a related discipline or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of IT or a related discipline experience
- Analytical and conceptual skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing
- Must have a strong systems and process orientation
- Track record of participation on IT project teams
- Must be able to work without close supervision
- Must be comfortable working remotely using primarily virtual means of collaborating with colleagues and managers
- Highly motivated with a commitment to delivering high quality work in a dynamic fast paced environment
- Possess the ability and desire to foster the development of junior team members
- Basic technical skills to support minor user requests such as ad-hoc reports, data extraction etc.
