TITLE :IT Senior Network Engineer Manager

DEPARTMENT : IT

REPORTING TO : Director, IT Global Infrastructure & Operations

TYPE : Full time, Hybrid

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer Manager to join our team and help us design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure.

You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our network systems and services. You will also collaborate with other IT professionals and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve network issues, as well as provide technical design, support and guidance.

What You Will Do :

The ability to troubleshoot network environments / services and work under pressure is essential. This role will include managing projects from start to finish, being a resource on larger projects, architect and build networks, dealing with escalated issues, troubleshooting performance issues, and supporting system maintenance and upgrades over planned weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Design, configure, and manage network devices and systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, wireless access points, and network monitoring tools.
  • Implement and maintain network access control policies and procedures.
  • Perform regular network health checks, analysis, and optimization.
  • Ensure network security and compliance, following industry standards and best practices.
  • Document network architecture, configuration, and procedures.
  • Provide network support and troubleshooting.
  • Research and evaluate new network technologies and solutions and recommend improvements and upgrades.
  • Train and mentor Network Engineers.
  • Provide on-going maintenance of network services & environments.
  • Pro-active monitoring and maintenance of networking hardware, software, and services.
  • Support / Maintain the deployment of cloud-based network services, such as Azure and AWS.
  • Participate in daily ticket updates and standing meetings.
  • Review and evaluate assigned service tickets and update planner project team boards.

Desired Skills and Experience :

  • Professional network certification (e.g. CCIE)
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineering manager or similar role
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools
  • Ability to communicate confidently and concisely.
  • Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Calmness under pressure and the ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Able to use initiative and prioritize work.
  • Methodical and logical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and documentation.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Vendor and license management.

Knowledge and proven experience of :

  • Cisco technology (IOS / FTD, Nexxus, ICE, Firepower, Meraki, FMC,
  • Monitoring tools (Nagios, Solarwinds)
  • Designed, implemented, and maintained network architectures for various clients using Cisco products, such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points.
  • Leveraged cloud networking technologies, such as Azure and AWS Cloud Platforms.
  • Conducted network access control assessments and audits and provided recommendations and remediation plans for improving network security and compliance.
  • Performed network and security reviews for existing and new network infrastructures, and identified potential risks, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
  • Collaborated with other engineers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality network solutions that meet the business requirements and expectations.
  • Solid background in network administration and architecture
  • In-depth understanding of communication protocols and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF, MPLS, EIGRP, etc.)
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security
