To support our Service & Repair (S&R) department we are currently looking for a full-time customer focused and independent Field Service Engineer with strong technical capability and good communication skills.

This is a great challenge for a person with a solid technical background, commercial drive, and flexibility for travelling to customers within a given geographical territory.

In this exciting opportunity as a Field Service Engineer, you will be the face of the S&R team across the entire Medtronic product ranges for your customers.

You will have a territory and will be responsible for the maintenance and growth of revenue through sales of service plans, spare parts, and other valued services.

You will perform preventive maintenance and first-level repairs on small and medium non-life supporting devices. And you will also provide expertise and training to hospital technical teams and other personnel.

For this role, you will support the main Hospitals in Catalunya, and you will be expected to be located in Barcelona.

A Day in the Life

  • Carry out preventive checks on assigned medical equipment and follow all the safety standards for the facility and behaving in a way that does not put yourself or others at risk.
  • Secure and update the database information and perform the relevant documentation on time.
  • Implement all technical service maintenance and first level repairs on medical devices commercialized by Medtronic directly at customer site in line with the service delivery plan defined with the manager.
  • Review performance metrics for your territory and develop action plans to achieve goals.
  • Be 100 % aligned with Quality Assurance procedures and training, completing all Field Service corrective actions within territory by due date.
  • Ensure compliance with the operational guidelines, maintenance cost / profitability and response times to customer provided by the Service Delivery Plan .
  • Be an ambassador for the EMEA service and repair team with customers and a trusted partner of our sales teams.

Must Haves

  • Secondary or Higher Education degree in Electromechanics, Electronics, Mechanics, or other relevant technical education
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in electronic and electro-mechanical equipment maintenance in a Field Service role
  • Experience using a maintenance tracking software, updating work plans and service plans. As well as operating, updating and getting reports from preventative maintenance systems
  • Confidence in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software
  • Fluent in Spanish and proficiency in English
  • Familiarity with following processes and procedures in a regulated industry
  • Good communication skills, a strong commitment to customers and appointments, accuracy and precision, solution-oriented and punctual
  • Driving licence

Nice to Haves

  • Fluent in Catalan
  • Experience in working in the hospital setting or medical device industry
  • Knowledge of Oximetry, monitoring, and capnography would be an asset
  • Autonomous, responsible, and organized
  • Self-motivated and proactive
