Mechanical Lead Engineer- Electrolyzer

At our Guadalajara site in Spain, Cummins is developing innovative Electrolyzer technologies that can generate hydrogen for various applications with zero emissions - contributing to a safe and healthy environment for future generations.
We have a diverse team of engineers dedicated to the development of existing and future products for customers on a global scale. We are currently looking for a Mechanical Lead Engineer to join the team. The role will report to the Mechanical Design Engineering Leader EU.
Your tasks
Responsible for leading the structural and piping design of the product (Hylyzer 1000).
Manage the mechanical specification of the product.
Help define concepts for modularization of the mechanical implementation of the process design of the product.
Define and follow-up on simulation and validation work together with simulation and validation experts.
Interface with piping design function, skid design function, process design team, electrical and instrumentation design team, product/subsystem/module design team, manufacturing engineering team, project manager, etc.
Create clear and well-defined structure and work packages for the design engineers and the India based CAD team (modeling / drafting) and follow up.
Approve models, drawings, and other technical definition documentation.
Report to the product design team leadership as well as the mechanical engineering manager.
Qualifications
Your Profile
College, university, or equivalent bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.
Relevant experience in a technical project engineering role.
Able to read and understand a P&ID.
EPC background, preferably in Hydrogen, Oxygen service, Oil & Gas, Offshore equipment
Able to outsource design tasks to a global team of engineers located in India, Canada, Belgium.
Experience with structural design of static industrial installations, skid-based machinery and piping design.
Experience with PTC Creo CAD platform is a bonus.
Previous experience in project management is preferred.
Exceptional communication skills: adept at developing and delivering multi-mode communications tailored to different audiences.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal is a mandatory requirement (C1 level) .
