We are looking for a PR manager, storyteller and hands-on communications professional to take responsibility for a set of key countries (initial focus Spain and Italy) as part of our international communications team. In this role, you will be reporting to HPE’s Senior Director, Global Communications who is responsible for PR/comms activities outside the US. The preferred location is HPE’s Spanish headquarters in Madrid, but with much flexibility for remote work.

You will contribute to achieving our strategic business goals by driving PR and communications campaigns on both corporate and business unit level – this includes the creation of content such as articles, blog posts, press releases. While the main focus of the role is media relations, you will also provide counsel and support as needed for employee, executive and social media communications as part of a 360-degree approach.
Responsibilities:
Plan, execute and measure PR and communications across Spain and Italy to raise awareness, relevance and reputation of the company and its commercial offerings
Manage PR agencies in Spain and Italy to execute against stated plans and objectives – including budget management, measurement and continuous improvement
Create content for press activities
Cultivate and maintain relationships with reporters, initiate and organize interviews and press events, prepare spokespeople
Maintain list of all key media
Manage approvals with internal stakeholders in Spain/Italy and worldwide
Write press materials – media pitches, blog posts, press releases and bylines - including the translation of English content into Spanish
Pitch news and stories to media in Spain to drive coverage across technology, vertical and business media
Continuous monitoring of trends in business, society, technology and media
Support employee, executive and social media communications as needed
Required education and experience:
Bachelor or Master degree preferred
5-7 years of relevant job experience
Experience working with complex B2B topics and in multinational environments would be preferred
Existing relationships with media in Spain
Required skills:
Project management with a hands-on attitude to do whatever is required
Writing and storytelling for a broad spectrum of target audiences and platforms
Native language skills in Spanish, fluency in English, additional languages welcome (particularly Italian)
Translate strategies into programs, campaigns and activities
Self-motivated, eager to perform and exceed expectations
Exceptional attention to detail
Strong oral communications skills, confidence to provide counsel to senior managers
Tolerant to periods of high workload
