Well, what about the team?
We are recruiting a Privacy Manager (Spanish Operations) to join our Global Data Privacy Office. The Global Data Privacy Office is part of the Global Legal Department at Ballys and is composed of a team of privacy experts organised to advise the business in scope of its regulatory data protection and security obligations.
This role will report to the Privacy Manager-International (who reports into the VP Global Data Privacy Officer) and focus on supporting the Global Data Privacy Office in building and maintaining its global compliance framework with a focus on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The role is primarily dedicated to support our operations in Spain, and support other markets as required.
The successful candidate will work closely with a wider team of varied stakeholders supporting the Spanish operations, such as the Legal team, Cybersecurity team, Compliance Team, Product / Technical team, Marketing team and other key functions relevant to data protection.
This position offers the opportunity to join an established global privacy function fostering a data protection culture across Ballys.
So, what will you be doing?
- Build and foster close relationships with the ecosystem of the Global Privacy Office across Ballys and collaborate cross-departmentally to continuously promote privacy
- Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of data protection processes where required
- Be in a hands-on operational role, providing clear data protection and ePrivacy guidance to the Spanish Operations
- Pursue privacy projects to completion, including initiating and completing data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), transfer impact assessments and other assessments as appropriate
- Support the Global Data Privacy Office with the preparation of the Data Protection Committee quarterly meetings and act as Secretary, when requested
- Provide support to the business to map out data flows and processing activities for Spain and other markets as required, by making use of the privacy management software used by Ballys
- Support the Global Data Privacy Office with the preparation and delivery of data protection trainings to operational teams and focused trainings on Spanish data protection related matters with the view to promote awareness
- Provide technical data protection support to the DSR Coordinator and their team with the management of data subject rights requests for Spain
- Support the cybersecurity team in security incident and breach management for the business operations in Spain (and other territories upon request)
- Be the go-to person for our network of Data Guardians in Spain (and other markets as required to support the Global Data Privacy Office).
- Monitor data protection landscape in Spain and disseminate information in relevant forums identified
And what are we looking for?
- Good grasp of online technologies and their privacy implications
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English and Spanish
- Being a fluent or native Spanish speaker is a must.
- Team player with the ability to proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Practical and solution-oriented mindset
- Confident operating in a fast-paced and dynamic global environment, balancing competing priorities
- Ability to act independently when needed and exercise good judgement
- Good stakeholder expectations management skills
- Excellent working knowledge of IT packages including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint is a must.
- Detail oriented, analytical, and passionate about privacy
