Job purpose :

As a Procurement Business Partner (Procurement BP) in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (LSCM), you will be responsible for creating the bridge between the central and regional LSCM Management team, the LSCM business controlling function and the extended procurement organization, adapting EMEA central sourcing strategies to the regional business needs.

As LSCM Procurement Business Partner you will :

  • speak the language of the business & understand requirements on logistics and overall supply chain services
  • serve as the procurement contact for primary transportation needs, encompassing various modes such as road, rail, air, or sea (and satellite services : i.

e 4PLs services, custom brokers etc.) warehousing, secondary and last mile distribution activities

  • The above will involve tailoring procurement strategies that align with the organization's broader goals . This includes analyzing and optimizing supply chain logistics, negotiating with suppliers for the best terms and cost efficiencies, and ensuring high service levels from third party logistics companies.
  • effectively participate in cross-functional activities to guide and direct procurement strategies, communicate sourcing limitations, and articulate supply risk mitigation strategies.
  • execute or support the execution of key sourcing projects, negotiations and contractual arrangements
  • feel comfortable engaging in financial exercises , including regular participation in budgeting and forecasting reviews throughout the year
  • understand and have some experience in P2P processes through SAP & Ariba

Your negotiation skills are well-developed, accompanied by experience in crafting contracts. You are proficient in English both in writing and speaking.

Additional context / position responsibilities :

  • Understand key objectives for LSCM and Bridgestone, align people to objectives and set priorities and direction
  • Influence teams and individuals positively, leading by example and establishing confident relationships with increasingly senior people
  • Provide subject matter expertise, industry perspective and relevant point of view to drive value
  • Develop business stakeholder relationships and be the link between regional and / or local Management team and the extended procurement organization responsible for executing
  • Act as a trusted advisor in LSCM domain, by being the procurement primary point of contact for LSCM, orchestrating procurement needs for core categories
  • Understand LSCM strategy, challenges and requirements for procurement, leverage category expertise to advise on specs, innovation and policies to optimize TCO
  • Coordinate the activities to establish a common agreed category strategy and sourcing wave plan
  • Contribute to budget definition with the business and finance in collaboration with the extended procurement organization
  • Support the development of the strategic framework and procurement roadmap for LSCM
  • Coordinate the right procurement support to execute the sourcing strategies at business level
  • Manage relationships with other Procurement staff remotely
  • For specific initiatives, actively negotiate strategic deals
  • Validate supplier selection with Business stakeholders and ensure new contracts / suppliers are suitable for business purposes
  • Influence the balance sheet of Bridgestone EMEA through development and robust implementation of best procurement practices
  • Follow up on procurement savings realization
  • Ensure Procurement policies and purchasing processes are being communicated, understood and applied locally, including proper use of procurement tools
  • Support the implementation , training and continuous improvement of SAP P2P / Ariba P2P

Required capabilities :

  • Able to deal with uncertainty and with organizations and functions that are constantly adapting
  • Experience in category management and strategic sourcing process in the area of logistics and supply chain with a special focus on primary transportation
  • Fully fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Good negotiation skills and ability to form and grow own network
  • Solid stakeholders management skills
  • Business acumen, capacity to understand and translate logistics requirements and needs into actionable decisions
  • Proven decision making / problem solving
  • Results oriented with proven record in terms of delivering results
  • Ability to work independently to identify and research relevant market, industry / peer company, and supplier information
  • Ability to challenge, understand different point of views and lead to a common conclusion

Experience :

  • 7 years+ and above
  • Experience in working in an international environment
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams (procurement, business, finance)
  • Experience in logistics & supply chain management and in procurement of LSCM category
  • Supply market knowledge is a plus
