Research Projects Management Technician (Ref : MGMT 2024-06)

The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Research Projects Management Technician. This position will be funded by NEXT-ICIQ project GPE2022-00953, funded by MCIN / AEI / 10.13039 / 501100011033.

ICIQ is one of the world’s internationally recognized leading institutions in the field of chemistry committed to solving major social and economic challenges by conducting top quality research in three main areas : Sustainable Catalysis , Renewable Energy and Health .

The institute also aims at training the future generation of scientists by offering high-quality educational programs to master, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers (full details on http : / / www.iciq.org / ).

The Research Project Manager technician will work at the Research Projects and International Collaborations Unit, supporting the preparation of European competitive projects.

The Research Projects and International Collaborations Unit helps researchers at ICIQ identify interesting calls, prepare the applications and manage competitive projects awarded by international and national research agencies and foundations.

Responsibilities

• Funding : Identify new funding opportunities for the research lines at ICIQ
• Project preparation : Support the definition of Research Projects, advising on project partners, preparation of budget, support on proposal writing and submission.
• Liaising between research group leaders and other ICIQ support areas for the daily running of the projects
• Project Coordination : Monitor the progress of work, anticipate possible problems and maintain excellent communication with the Principal Investigator and with the Project Officer or equivalent from funding agencies.

Organize and participate in consortium meetings, teleconferences, reviews and other events. Prepare and submit high-quality periodic reports on time (collect and review consortium information).

• Science policy : Analysis and participation in the definition of roadmaps and strategic agendas
• Others : Collaborate to improve the operation of the different units involved in the Research Projects implementation by sharing best practices

Requirements

• University Degree (Chemistry related degrees might be an advantage).
• Research experience or PhD
• Excellent communication (both oral and written) and networking skills
• Advanced level of English, Spanish and Catalan (written and spoken) is required.
• Team work skills
• Proactive and enthusiastic personality
• Used to working under pressure with strict deadlines
• Availability to travel within Europe

Valued qualities :

• Previous experience and training in research project management and knowledge of European research funding
• Experience / knowledge on science policy
• Good knowledge of CERCA centres and the Catalan and Spanish research system
• Awareness of knowledge and technology transfer processes

We offer :

• A full-time permanent contract, linked to NEXT-ICIQ project GPE2022-00953 (until December 2024).
• Annual salary split into 12 monthly payments.
• Remuneration according to the candidate’s qualifications / experience
• Incorporation : Immediately
• Structural position resulting from the ordinary reposition quota for 2024.

L'Institut Català d’Investigació Química (ICIQ) busca un / a Tècnic / a de Gestió de Projectes d'Investigació. Aquesta posició està finançada pel projecte NEXT-ICIQ, referència GPE2022-00953, finançat per MCIN / AEI / 10.13039 / 501100011033.

L'ICIQ és una de les principals institucions líders mundials reconegudes internacionalment en el camp de la química compromesa amb la resolució dels grans reptes socials i econòmics mitjançant la realització d'investigacions d'alta qualitat en tres àrees principals : Catàlisi Sostenible, Energies Renovables i Salut.

L'institut també té com a objectiu formar la futura generació de científics oferint programes educatius d'alta qualitat a estudiants de màster, doctorat i investigadors postdoctorals (tots els detalls sobre http : / / www.iciq.org / ).

El / La Tècnic / a de Gestió de Projectes d'Investigació treballarà a la Unitat de Projectes de Recerca i Col·laboracions Internacionals donant suport a la preparació i coordinació de projectes competitius europeus.

La Unitat de Projectes de Recerca i Col·laboracions Internacionals ajuda els investigadors de l'ICIQ a identificar convocatòries interessants, preparar les sol·licituds i gestionar projectes competitius atorgats per agències i fundacions de recerca internacionals i nacionals.

Responsabilitats :

• Finançament : Identificar noves oportunitats de finançament per a les línies de recerca de l'ICIQ
• Preparació de projectes : Donar suport a la definició de projectes de recerca, assessorament als socis del projecte, preparació del pressupost, suport en la redacció i presentació de propostes.
• Enllaç entre els responsables de grups de recerca i altres àrees de suport de l'ICIQ per al desenvolupament diari dels projectes
• Coordinació de projectes : supervisar el progrés del treball, preveure possibles problemes i mantenir una comunicació excel·lent amb l'investigador principal i amb el responsable del projecte o equivalent de les agències finançadores.

Organitzar i participar en reunions de consorci, teleconferències i altres esdeveniments. Preparar i presentar informes periòdics d'alta qualitat i a temps (recollir i revisar la informació del consorci).

• Política científica : Anàlisi i participació en la definició de fulls de ruta i agendes estratègiques
• Altres : Col·laborar per millorar el funcionament de les diferents unitats implicades en la implementació de projectes de recerca compartint bones pràctiques.

Requeriments :

• Titulació universitària (les titulacions relacionades amb la química poden ser un avantatge).
• Experiència investigadora o doctorat
• Excel·lents habilitats comunicatives (tant orals com escrites) i treball en xarxa
• Es requereix un nivell avançat d'anglès, castellà i català (oral i escrit).
• Habilitats de treball en equip
• Personalitat proactiva i entusiasta
• Capacitat de treballar sota pressió amb terminis estrictes
• Disponibilitat per viatjar per Europa
