WHAT WE NEED

We are looking for an energetic and passionate Ruby On Rails Engineer, with at least 3 years of experience working as software engineer, most of these years working with this tecnology, to join our fast-growing team in Spain.

A TYPICAL DAY

  • Ruby on Rails applications development
  • Work with other areas like Frontend Engineers to build and deliver features
  • Developer client and service APIs for partners and our own applications
  • Address performance issues
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Identify backend best practices

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Define the best solution for complex technical challenges from a cost-effective point of view
  • Enable software delivery at the expected velocity of the company in its current phase
  • Ensure quality standards in project and task definitions
  • Lead a project / area and be responsible for its technical quality and scalability
  • Mentor other junior and mid-engineers. Provide technical guidance and hands-on experience in software development.
  • Act as a technical representative with external stakeholders on behalf of the team
  • Eventually, play a scrum master role
  • Recommend and implement new technologies, processes, and systems to increase efficiencies, productivity and customer engagement
  • Work with the leadership team to define the platform roadmap, identify technologies to utilize and integrate, and ultimately deliver the technical solution
  • Specify, evaluate, and approve the design and implementation
  • Maintain an ongoing awareness of emerging developments and trends in technology that could impact or influence current and future product development
  • Create and deliver detailed technical documentation and presentations
  • Produce clean and efficient code based on specifications
  • Address performance issues
  • Contribute to the security of our systems
  • Contribute to recruitment activities
  • Specify, evaluate, and approve the design and implementation

Your first contact with CoverWallet will be through an HR interview with one of our colleagues from the Talent Acquisition area, who will tell you everything about our company and its history, as well as the details of the position, functions and your future conditions.

We would love to know your professional and academic career, and of course, your motivations and expectations for a new professional project.

Do we have a match? Let’s move on to your First Technical Interview ! You will meet two of your future colleagues from the Software team, who will explain to you in more detail what the team's day-to-day life is and its responsibilities.

They will be very interested in expanding information about their experience in the world of software and digital product design, both from a corporate and application point of view.

  • If everything has gone well and you have impressed our colleagues... we advance to the Second Technical Interview ! In line with the previous one, you will meet two other members of the Software team, who will continue to deepen your knowledge at the level of methodologies, roles, and previous projects, as well as about your background in our reference technological environments (cloud, databases, architecture, etc.)
  • If you've made it this far, things are getting interesting... It's time for your Final Interview ! In this case, you will have the opportunity to meet one of our VP of Engineering, who will close the selection process with an interview aimed at getting to know you not only on a professional and technical level but also on a personal level, so that both of you can conclude whether the purpose of our project fits with your professional aspirations.
