Senior Financial Controller

France - Paris, UK London, Italy Milan, Spain Madrid, Poland - Wroclaw

In line with the AXA Group’s Driving Progress 2023 strategy and ambition to develop an innovative, transversal solution to help us better serve our customers, AXA’s Management Committee recently announced a new strategic initiative - Digital Commercial Platform (DCP) designed to transform AXA’s value proposition.

Through DCP, AXA will serve existing and new clients and partners through an evolving business model, where our focus on insurance protection will transition to a combination of protection, prevention, and services moving from loss prevention to loss prediction.

AXA DCP relies on creating an ecosystem of AXA’s risk insights, risk management, and risk prevention capabilities to enhance and support our service offering to commercial clients.

Clients will be able to access a broad selection of data built on existing or developing AXA assets. The platform will also create value by monetizing unique capabilities and services for our customers, aggregating, and delivering insights from unique data sets with external partners, and fostering end-customer relationships in alignment with brokers.

AXA DCP aims to :

  • Improve our underwriting pricing and claims capabilities across the commercial lines book of business of AXA Group
  • Create a platform for risk management and prevention services
  • Build an ecosystem of business partners

This role consists in analyzing, reporting and commenting the results of AXA DCP on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to the Senior Management (AXA DCP Leadership Team) and to internal stakeholders (AXA DCP and AXA XL Finance teams).

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a great team directly involved in many cross-functional projects and initiatives.

The position offers the opportunity to actively participate in the design and optimization of processes and procedures and to develop the Financial Controlling for AXA DCP.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Responsible for the Reporting process end-to-end from establishment and adherence to internal timelines through to review and ultimate submission of key deliverables on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Responsible for monitoring and analyzing the results of AXA DCP.
  • Preparation of commentaries and analyses for reporting according to IFRS to AXA XL Finance.
  • Preparation of commentaries reports and analyses for the CFO as well as for the AXA DCP Leadership Team.
  • Ensure appropriate governance through procedures, instructions, and clear timelines, meeting internal and AXA XL deadlines.
  • Be an effective and trusted business partner by providing relevant data and information to enable AXA DCP Leadership Team understanding the results of AXA DCP.
  • Continuous improvement of key reporting processes and analysis, KPI’s, systems and tools.
  • Manage and actively monitor all Budgeting, Forecasts and Pre-Closing exercises, working closely with the Financial Planning Analyst.

You will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

SHARE your talent

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills :

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Extensive experience in reinsurance / insurance industry accounting and / or financial reporting experience.
  • CA / CPA or other accounting designation required, with Big Four public accounting experience a plus.
  • Robust experience with ledger-based reporting / consolidation systems ( HFM, SAP Consolidation / Magnitude) as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Outstanding project management skills with a demonstrated capability to handle competing priorities during compressed reporting timelines.
  • Effective collaborative and proactive work ethic.
  • Ability to navigate a complex global organization, understand constituencies served, and develop / leverage relationships necessary to bring matters to resolution.
  • Effective active listening, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, a high degree of accountability to self and the team, and a proven ability to work independently.
  • Able to communicate efficiently and effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Effective verbal communication skills to gain buy-in to communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail and process rigor.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work und pressure as well as delivering to deadlines.
