The Amazon Author team is seeking a highly motivated Software Development Engineer to be part of a single thread engineering team focusing on Author end to end.
You will have the opportunity to build systems and programs that will impact millions of authors and author followers. The SDE will work with other engineers , SDMs, Product Managers, Technical Program Managers and UX designers to enable authors building an active author to follower community on Amazon that provides tons of unique benefits to followers that will build a demand fly-wheel for Amazon.

Key job responsibilities
As a Software Dev Engineer II, you will
- Solve difficult engineering problems with elegant and practical code.
- Design and build web applications, backend services.
- Closely work with Product managers in scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
- Be a champion for the customer and ensure their needs always come first.
- Mentor junior engineer and provide technical guidance to your peers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience (non-internship) in professional Software Development
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with full Software Development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
