Our charter is to provide customers and partners a compelling, secure, and robust experience with a steady flow of engaging new features throughout the lifetime of a device.
As a member of the team, you will be working with business partners, Software Development engineers and testers UI / UX designers to design, implement, test, launch, document, and maintain complex software applications, tools, and systems.
You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.
You will learn a variety of cutting-edge technologies, development processes, and develop well-rounded skills such as leadership, and effective project management.
You will also mentor junior Software Development engineers.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will
- Lead software engineering teams to design, develop, implement, test, and document distributed software applications, tools, systems and services.
- Translate business requirements to technical initiatives and define their roadmap and implementation plans. Drive the initiatives until completion.
- Manage stakeholder relationships through the Software Development life cycle and operational excellence process.
- Set vision, mission and scope for the engineering team.
About the team
FireTV 3P engineering team is chartered to bring enchanting FireTV experiences to third party devices. This is an opportunity to design, develop and own the software that disrupts TV viewing experience and impact billions of viewers and devices.
We are spinning up a greenfield engineering team to build tools and technologies which will redefine the way 3P partners build their TVs on FireTV ecosystem.
With exciting roadmap and launches planned ahead. FireTV 3P engineering team will independently own, deliver and support end to end product journey for partners.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software / hardware / networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience in engineering team management
- Experience in engineering
- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring / coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
