Sr Manager, Data Science - Analytics
We’re looking to for an analytics leader to join us in PLS, the B2B division of Expedia Group. Reporting to a Director of Data Science Analytics, the Senior Manager will lead a small team of Data Scientists / Analysts supporting the commercial organization, and in particular the VP of Sales for Europe.
The job has a strong component of stakeholder management and coordination of the requests received by the team, but also pursuing proactive initiatives to help grow and / or optimize the business.
The role is based in Madrid (Spain).

What you'll do :
- Possesses significant experience in at least one major statistical / programming language (Python, R, etc)
- Possesses some experience (2-4 years) in industrial application of Data Science.
- Iteratively identifies strong features with some mentorship.
- Possesses solid theoretical foundation and applies advanced statistical methods to a broad range of problems.
- Has knowledge of advanced experimental design (e.g. A / B testing, counterfactual inference).
- Mentors junior profiles in technical and soft skills.
- Builds end-to-end design of models based on detailed understanding of business requirements, including approach, choice of algorithm and data sources.
- Displays advanced domain (i.e. travel, online retail) knowledge, business acumen (understanding the underlying business objectives) and critical reasoning skills.
- Picks valid approaches, appropriate in terms of level of effort, favoring iterative delivery that solves for the objective, not the ask (i.
e. not just order-taking). Uses advanced and sophisticated understanding of the business problem space to inform the design of the solution.
- Knows and applies data visualization principles consistently resulting in clear and consistent outcomes.
