Job Description

Gameloft Barcelona, the studio behind Asphalt 9: Legends and the recently launched Disney Speedstorm, is seeking a talented Technical Art Directorto join our team. Our Barcelona studio is known for its high speed cinematic action games enjoyed by millions of players on PC, console and mobile.

Under the responsibility of the Studio Manager, you will have to:

•Mentor, direct and supervise a dedicated art team in the development process of creating 3D action games

•Work with the Creative and Art Direction leads in pursuing the best way to blend visuals, technology and gameplay mechanics into one coherent gaming experience

•Challenge boundaries through innovation and process, leverage the teams strengths and the studio technology platform to deliver astounding real time visual experiences

•Control and establish artistic guidelines for every aspect of art production: characters, vehicles, environments, props, cinematic direction, special fx and post-processing

•Empower Team Leads and their teams to reach standard setting levels of quality

•Own the full vision of the product: step beyond the game and actively collaborate with marketing and licensing teams to design and execute trailers, promotional campaigns.

•Play an active, key role in all Studio Management strategic decisions from budgeting, recruitment, culture and on to technology choices and future catalogue

•Join a management team dedicated to building an industry benchmark studio, through both publishing spectacular cinematic games and developing top skilled professionals in the game dev community.

Qualifications

•Highly motivated; with a deep passion for video games

•3-5 years experience as Lead Artist, Art Director, Tech Art Director, Outsourcing Art Director or equivalent role.

•Previous experiences showcased by a published title

•Ability to articulate development strategy, planning, organization methods

•Hands-on previous experience in any major 3D art field is a must (Environment, Character or Vehicle 3D modelling)

•Proven experience in working with 3Dstudio Max (or Maya) and Zbrush

•A “lead by example” work philosophy

•Experienced, autonomous and versatile profile.
