This role sits within the Digital Hub and Data Infrastructure Team, reporting to the Data Engineering Lead. You will work closely with colleagues in data science, data engineering, product management, software development, automation, and other business groups. The tools, practices, and culture we put in place will impact the company, globally.
You will bring creativity, technical knowledge, and hands-on experience to support the design, development, and implementation of new capabilities within a global Data Infrastructure program that facilitates engineering and data automation. You will design, develop, deploy, and help operate global data capabilities that support delivering our applications and services to clients. You will work with developers, analysts, and data scientists to solve analytical and technical problems and produce innovative analyses, apps, and data science projects.
- 5+ years of building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
- AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift
- Spark, Kafka, Hadoop
- Relational SQL and NoSQL databases, like PostgreSQL.
- Scripting languages: Python, Java, etc.
- Able to extract value from large, disconnected datasets
- Willing to create processes to support data transformation, data structures & metadata
- Experience building automation to operate large-scale data systems.
- Expertise in data modeling, data warehouse design, and data lake concepts and practices.
- Experience in identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: preferably Airflow.
Other desirable skills:
- Kubernetes.
- Power BI or other analytical tools.
- Experience with DevOps (or similar), Infrastructure-as-Code and Terraform.
- Experience of Linux system administration, configuration, and management.
