Digital Marketing Director

We are looking for an experienced marketing professional with an above average appetite for news media. As a funnel specialist, you grow the readership on our platform and develop strategies to improve the success of the customer journey. You play a pivotal role by crafting compelling narratives to enhance our brand presence. As a digital wizard, you know how to build strong relations with our users by harnessing the power our Digital Marketing.

Your contributions: you will work on all stages of the Digital Marketing funnel. Attract readers, build a relationship and engage with them.

  • Attract:

You develop and optimize the channels in order to reach the right audiences. Newsletters are an important way to reach our audience and your initiatives will maximize their impact. 
You market content, new formats and products on (paid) social media, search and other external channels. Your work will be embedded in the operations of the audience team and you interact daily with the members of the newsroom, including the editor in chief.

  • Build relationship:
You help converting the anonymous user of Euractiv into a frequent visitor. You devise scenarios to register, collect data and log in. You AB-test every step of the journey, until we reach the sweetspot: gradually you optimize the performance of the IAM & paywall. Your work is intricately entwined with the sales team, who’s depending on you for lead generation.
 
  • Communication & brand management: you’ll be in charge of the external communication of Euractiv. You make Euractiv shine through remarkable copywriting and branding. You implement and watch over consistent use of brand guidelines. 
As a digital marketeer you manage a communication budget and you work closely together with a junior digital marketeer.
 
What makes you stand out:
  • You’re a skilled Digital Marketing professional with business acumen and a hands-on approach. You’re a self starter and don’t need to rely on Chat GPT to be resourceful
  • You have the talent of developing a Digital Marketing strategy and you have a proven record on SEO, newsletter and social media marketing.
  • You are an above average user of news media (it’s a plus if you have a knack for EU related journalism) and are keen to work in a newsroom, a vibrant environment where every day something else is cooking.
  • You’re a native English speaker and are passionate about communication, you can prove your copywriting skills.
  • Data are your friend, they enable you in your decision-making
  • Last but not least; you’re a real team player. Sometimes you’re in the lead, but you’re also able to pass the ball.

What we offer:

This is a full-time employment contract under Belgian law (“contrat à durée indéterminée”), with salary and responsibilities commensurate to the candidate’s level of experience.
