- Supports the Senior Finance Manager in managing all Financial Systems activities in accordance with established policies and procedures and maintaining the overall integrity of financial information for the Bank. The Financial Systems Accounting Analyst liaises and works with IT and FSS to ensure all Finance contributions are completed for system upgrades/ changes. This position is accountable for ensuring that the overall finance deliverables for technical changes are executed seamlessly, with minimum disruption and in alignment with the Group and FSS performance requirements as well as the governance and security policies, procedures and standards.
Job Description:
- Collaborate with Finance team members to successfully execute various accounting tasks.
- Complete extraction, transmission and other accounting technical assignments for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement close process, within established deadlines.
- Assist the Financial Team Lead with assessing and creating/ building financial reports to contribute to the Bank’s performance assessments and support regulatory reporting requirements.
- Manage and maintain the Bank’s Chart of Accounts and mapping to GCOA.
- Assist the Finance Team Lead to streamline the production of the preparation of financial statements.
- Support the Finance Team Lead in the internal and external audit process.
- Reconciliation of the Bank’s general ledger accounts.
- Variance analysis and interpretation of financial data on financial performance.
- Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them.
- Support the development of budgets and financial targets.
- Finance IT subject matter expert (SME) and liaison for projects and queries, inclusive of product mapping and Financial Systems updates.
- Performs any other related tasks / duties as required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- University degree in the field of Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Pursuit of ACCA or equivalent.
- At least 2-3 years of proven work experience as a technical analyst on medium to large projects.
- Proven experience with developing technical requirements based on input from internal and external business and technical subject matter experts.
- Auditing and accounting experience
- Knowledge of financial statement close process.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong mathematical, problem solving and analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies.
- Ability to work with technical personnel from multiple disciplines, both onshore and offshore.
- Ability to generate project deliverables with completeness, quality, and in compliance with established project standards.
- Experience working with private and sensitive information.
- Knowledge of business controls and processes
- Must be a strong communicator and capable of expressing oneself clearly both speaking and in in writing.
