Growth Office Finance LeadEurope basedHybrid

Growth Office Finance Lead is accountable for Growth office financial performance monitoring and tracking. Growth office is embedding core functions that are supporting the BU growth including Business Excellence, Creation Excellence, Consumer Excellence, Innovation hub and Strategic Segment Unit. While supporting Global head of Growth Office, GO Finance Lead will play an independent ‘challenger role’ with GO leadership team. He would need to work closely with the different GO leaders and various and complex topics such as Innovation Business Cases, Strategic Segment Unit projections, Costs optimization and reformulation savings tracking, Pricing team support and FLC process management with BU leaders

Your key responsibilities

  • Together with global Growth Office Head, develops the segments strategy, drives commercial development through innovation and consumer excellence, optimize our customer and product portfolio helped by business excellence, Finance lead’s scope is Growth Office performance and business development / pricing including innovation business case. Also in charge of ensuring optimization and efficiencies of our businesses (CB, FFE, PCA, ING) through transversal processes (e.g. FLC)

  • Supports the financial targets (P&L and Cash) of the BU in context of Group requirements, steers and controls the deployment and execution of the plan in the BU and safeguards the realization of this plan by managing, monitoring and controlling the financial processes of the BU, Corporate and BU F&C policies in line with corporate requirements and guidelines.

  • Effectively translates actuals results vs Growth Office objectives Leadership team and steers the action towards delivery of BU objectives according to emerging outside or inside factors that require adjustments, including challenging assumptions and norms. Builds actionable plans based on in-depth knowledge and insights from internal & external environments. Matches internal competencies to external needs.

  • Builds and develops a high performing Finance acumen within Growth Office community, driving efficiency and effective delivery. Ensures full connection with BU Finance team. Actively supports and coordinates / executes transformation initiatives effectively.

You bring

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or Accounting.

  • Minimum of 10-15 years relevant finance experience as FD or Business Controller having overseen region or BU of minimum 1bn in revenues, with mixed commercial / innovation and supply chain experience

  • Experience built in Life science, FMCG and/ or Manufacturing environment

  • Strong command of English as business language

  • Strong business and strategic acumen, demonstrating courage and conviction to drive change and to positively challenge the status quo.

  • Strong analytical skills, highly adaptable. Dynamic, engaging, self-reliant and entrepreneurial; quick on his/her feet.

  • Desires to reinvent, break boundaries and explore new ways to solve tough problems.

  • Building teams during change. Collaborating and Influencing, excellent interpersonal skills.

Important note

This job title is temporary and will be adjusted once the job grading structure for the new Group will be adopted (covering among others: grades’ design, job evaluations, calibration, and job titles’ nomenclature). Until these adjustments are finalized, current compensation packages will be grandfathered for those whose new position turns out to be graded lower than their current position. This temporary period will last not more than 24 months for the legacy DSM Executives or legacy FIR SLT members, and not more than 12-18 months for all other employees from the moment the candidate moves into their new position.
