THE ROLE

As Head of Product Merchandising you will be responsible for driving the product strategy, leading the development and execution of merchandising plans that resonate with current trends and customer demands.

Your expertise will guide the product lifecycle from conception to market launch, and finally the end of life of the product aligned with the brand aesthetic and business objectives.

This pivotal role also involves creating a seamless connection between product planning, inventory management, and sales strategies to ensure a compelling and customer-centric product offering.

YOUR CHALLENGE

Leadership and Team Development :

  • Coach and guide direct reports in managing their teams effectively.
  • Collaborate in co-designing yearly objectives, including OKRs, fostering accountability.

Financial Management :

  • Ownership of departmental Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility.
  • Actively participate in country P&L reviews and contribute to the 3-year strategic plan.

Change Management and Business Process Optimization :

  • Drive change management initiatives, emphasizing business process optimization.
  • Implement time management and digital transformation strategies for tasks, meetings, and tools.

Budgeting and Strategic Planning :

Set yearly budgets with key performance indicators (KPIs) encompassing sales, margins, and stocks.Consider market trends, country commercial calendars, expansion plans, and pricing strategies in budget planning.

Stakeholder Management :

Manage senior stakeholders to align yearly targets with a 360º approach, involving finance, retail, and product teams.

Merchandise Planning :

  • Create and approve the final merchandising plan, ensuring alignment with market needs and customer insights.
  • Approve weekly product drop plans based on feedback and data analysis.
  • Allocate and manage budgets for OTB to meet market demands.
  • Develop and oversee omni channel distribution plans, store clustering, and replenishment strategies.

Market Analysis and Pricing :

  • Conduct product-driven analyses, collect market feedback, monitor KPIs, and strategize pricing and positioning in a global context.
  • Monitor mark-ups considering currency exchange rates and competitor analysis.
  • Strategize mark-down planning to optimize margins and address leftover inventory through promotions and clearance.

Cross-Functional Leadership :

  • Lead cross-functional product teams, regional teams, and franchisees for cohesive strategic execution.
  • Omnichannel Distribution and Visual Merchandising
  • Define Visual Merchandising (VM) guidelines, ensuring global VM standards with commercial adjustments.

YOU WILL ROCK AT THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE...

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fashion Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Product Merchandising and product planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in owning and managing Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities.
  • Expertise in setting and managing yearly budgets, considering key performance indicators (KPIs) and market factors.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing merchandising strategies that align with brand identity and market trends.
  • Ability to translate market insights into actionable merchandising plans.
  • In-depth understanding of Product life cycle management, from concept to clearance, with a focus on optimizing each stage for profitability.
  • Expertise in assortment planning, ensuring a balanced and cohesive product mix that caters to diverse customer preferences.
  • Strong analytical skills to optimize inventory levels, minimizing stockouts and excess inventory, while maximizing sales and margins.
  • Track record of achieving high forecasting accuracy by utilizing advanced forecasting methods and staying attuned to market dynamics.
  • Familiarity with market trends, country commercial calendars, expansion plans, and pricing strategies.
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to align purchasing plans with overall business objectives.
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology, such as ERP systems and data analytics tools, to enhance merchandising and purchasing planning processes.
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Outlook, etc.)
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish, with a strong command of written and verbal communication.
