TITLE : IT Senior Systems Engineer
DEPARTMENT : IT
REPORTING TO : IT Infrastructure Manager
TYPE : Full - time, Hybrid
Overview
The IT Systems Engineer role is responsible for the support, on-going maintenance, and future development of company’s IT Services server & cloud infrastructure.
This role will require occasional out of hours and weekend work.
What You Will Do :
The ability to troubleshoot systems and work under pressure is essential. This role will include managing projects from start to finish, being a resource on larger projects, building servers, dealing with escalated issues, troubleshooting performance issues, and supporting system maintenance and upgrades over planned weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Perform support for global server related issues.
- Design, build, deploy server environments with on-going ownership.
- Perform regular health checks and performance benchmarks of existing systems.
- Provide on-going maintenance of key systems as required.
- Review existing systems for improvements.
- Pro-active monitoring and maintenance of hardware and software.
- Support / Maintain the deployment of cloud-based servers & services.
- Participate in daily ticket updates and standing meetings.
- Review and evaluate assigned service tickets and update planner project team boards.
Desired Skills and Experience :
- Computer Science / Information Technology related Degree.
- Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
- Ability to communicate confidently and concisely.
- Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships.
- Calmness under pressure and the ability to maintain a positive attitude.

- Methodical and logical approach to troubleshooting.

- Windows Servers (2012-2022)
- Windows Active Directory (Domain Services, GPO,DNS, Security, etc.)
- Office 365
- MFA authentication
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Exchange
- Citrix
- VMware
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- Backup Technologies (Veeam / Commvault)
- Storage Technologies (EMC, Compellent, Equallogic, QNAP, Dell PowerStore)
- Monitoring tools (Nagios, Solarwinds)
- Migrating workloads from on-prem to the cloud, including provisioning the target infrastructure and executing cutover plans that minimize system downtime.
- Understanding of SSL certificate managements and encryption.
- Systems monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
