 LOCAL CATEGORY MANAGER - TEMPORARY

 

Position purpose:

 

Manage the procurement activities for the relevant category/sub-category(ies)within own Cluster following Global category strategies and identified alternative if required. This role has the following main dimensions:
- Manage the initiatives within the Cluster for identified sub-categories
- Participate in financial planning and deliver benefits/value within the perimeter of the action
- Drive cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
- Apply Category Management principles, and coordinate Cluster implementation plans as per Cluster directions
- Ensure business connectivity and foster collaborative business partnership with specific stakeholders
- Manage SRM with suppliers in full coordination with Cluster and Category directions
- Role model in compliance and ethics
- Act as GIP ambassador in the home location.

 

What will you do – responsibilities:

 

  • Category Management Strategy: 
    The incumbent is responsible for procurement activities of the assigned business sub-category(ies) within own cluster. Rolls-out appropriate strategies set forth by the Cluster Category Manager, provides sound direction for assigned sub-category(ies) and ensures close collaboration with all associated stakeholders. 
    Apply Category Management principles, supports the development and implementation of Local Procurement plan as per Cluster directions.
    Work in close collaboration with the Cluster Category Manager to provide Cluster insights during Global Strategy definition and ensure that the supplier list is managed in efficiently & effectively.
    Participate in financial planning and delivers benefits/value within their perimeter of the action. 
  •  

    • Supplier Management: 
      Identify and manage a local supplier pool. Negotiate strategic contracts and ensure optimum and sustainable supply conditions. Recommend timely strategic decisions where relevant to prevent procurement inefficiencies. Ensure security of supply and effective supplier relationship management throughout the supply chain. Demonstrate ability to challenge status quo, propose and run projects that add value to both Procurement and business functions.
      Manage SRM with key suppliers in full coordination with Global/Regional/Cluster directions. Support building of innovative & sustainable strategy with local suppliers and promote any idea that could represent a competitive advantage for JTI.

      • KPIs & Targets: 
        Achieve set procurement targets and KPIs. Develops and recommends strategic sourcing plan/decisions for assigned sub-category(ies). 
        Lead and/or supports supplier bidding processes in close cooperation with respective business partners to ensure best combination of quality, cost and service conditions for goods and services are attained. 
        Drive strategy implementation at local level for assigned category(ies) within the cluster and monitors performance. Ensure corrective actions are taken when required.
        Ensure full compliance in the utilisation of digital technology for sourcing events and performance reporting.
        Drive ad-hoc cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives

        • Business Partnership: 
          Ensure business connectivity and foster collaborative business partnership with specific stakeholders. Focus on demonstrating value of business partnership by developing a customer-oriented approach. Align strategy with key business partners and ensures it meets business priorities. 
          Establish alignment and effective communication among procurement organization, business partners and suppliers. 
          Take preventive actions to avoid supply issues and resolves problems in due time.
          Assum responsibilities for additional projects/tasks as assigned by line manager and reflects core behaviors in all aspects of work.
          Act as GIP ambassador and drive the implementation of local /regional/ global projects and initiatives when needed ensuaring liaison of Local stakeholders with respective GIP CATEGORY MANAGERs.

          • Market Intelligence: 
            Share Category intelligence, identify trends and opportunities. 
            Apply best practices in procurement process management by utilizing latest models and takes necessary actions for areas of improvement. 
            Conduct supply risk assessments, builds contingency plans, find alternative ideas, solutions in securing best conditions for JTI including extensive market research and proactive sourcing of innovative suppliers.

            Who are we looking for – requirements:

             

            • University degree in Finance / Supply Chain / Procurement 
            • Minimum 3 years experience in similar environment in a multinational company
            • English (business language) other language is an asset
            • Strategic thinking
            • Effective negotiations and communication, interpersonal skills
            • Financial analysis
            • Leadership skills, management of internal and external parties
            • Business environment knowledge
            • Decision-making and project management
            • MS Office tools and SAP
