Procurement Specialist
Ebury Malaga - Office based - 4 days a week in the office
About the position
This is an unique opportunity to join a fast growing Fintech and a recently established global
procurement function. The successful candidate will be under Ebury Finance reporting to the
procurement manager. Loads are still to be done as this is a new division that is defining
processes and policies, conducting sourcing activities on a daily basis while supporting
Accounts in improving purchasing operations. The candidate will be strongly supported by a
business that is embracing opportunities presented by a procurement function yielding
results month on month. While the initial role is defined to support both upstream and
downstream procurement activities, the end goal will be leaning towards either a sourcing or
purchasing specialist, the former is preferred.
Responsibilities :
Data Analysis : Collecting and analysing procurement data (i.e. suppliers spend,
contract information and process compliance via Ebury TPRM system) to identify
patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement in the procurement process and
development of :
- Sourcing pipeline
- Contract efficiencies and supplier consolidation roadmap
- Creation of Catalogues
- Credit card expenses analysis and action to reduce out of policy expenses
- Analysing the total cost of ownership and looking for cost-saving opportunities
- Sourcing : Provide end to end support in the implementation of sourcing activities :
- Market Research : Staying informed about market conditions, changes in
industry trends, and potential vendors or suppliers. Be able to issue
recommendations to key stakeholders on tender candidates and market
competition
- Development of RFX documents
- Consolidating and analysing tender responses
- Assessing and selecting vendors / suppliers based on criteria such as price,
quality, service, and reliability
- Support in conducting large and complex tenders
- Leading low to mid tier supplier negotiations
- Contract management support : Support company efforts in actively managing
large contract with strategic third parties in order to :
- Track and monitor compliance to agreed terms and commercials
- Ongoing identification of value adds opportunities
- Support regular supplier review meetings
- Purchasing activities : Actively managing implementation of PO process to achieve
goal to channel 80% of the external spend via PO invoices. Support Purchase to Pay
growth and maturity of the function
Procurement policy and processes reporting : Generating detailed reports on
procurement performance, including areas for improvement to drive adoption and
better adapt to business requirements
Support in the development , implementation and monitoring of procurement
related activities
- Continually looking for, and implementing, ways to improve procurement processes and systems
- Support in training material development and training delivery to drive adoption
Requirements and Skills
- Proven work experience as a Procurement Specialist or similar role
- Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills including English
capabilities
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in the use of analytical tools
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management or a
similar field preferred
