This position will perform analytical testing using a wide range of analytical techniques and support to provide analytical solutions with supervision and guidance to resolve quality issues related to Finished Beverage, Ingredients, Concentrates, Manufacturing, and Consumer Relations. Apply your technical knowledge by collaborating with PepsiCo’s manufacturing plants to solve consumer complaints and urgent global requests. You will also work closely on business-critical innovation projects with the R&D Beverage S&T, packaging, and Product Development teams. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the Forensics Delta Lims database system to ensure samples are properly logged in, maintained, and discarded as per Forensics procedures. Chain of custody and accuracy are critical aspects to this process. This position will maintain lab equipment including regular calibrations and consumable management. The incumbent will adhere to all company and laboratory safety policies. Successful candidates thrive in an environment of fast-paced, consumer-driven product and process development with extreme attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Follow Chain of Custody protocol; receive and log sample into LIMS for analysis and traceability; manage sample disposal following standard protocol.
  • Manage Forensics LIMS system in support of Master Data maintenance and testing for project DELTA
  • Perform bench work under guidance of manager or senior scientist in support of Forensics investigations including microscopy, sample prep for GC and HPLC, enamel rating test, torque test, CarboQC.
  • Support team members as needed on executing various R&D projects
  • Organize and Set up Tastings with cross functional R&D teams to address Forensics investigations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe laboratory.

Compensation and Benefits : 

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $55,700 - $83,550 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
  • B.S. in Chemistry, Food Science or related field with experience in the Food/Bev industry.
  • Experiences with wet chemistry, GC/MS, Microscopy and knowledge of flavor chemistry strongly desired.
  • Operational experience in the use of analytical software (Masshunter, OMNIS)
  • Experience working effectively as a member and contributor on cross functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver against multiple assignments.
  • Ability to clearly document and communicate the results.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic analytical chemistry issues
  • Basic computer skills and functional knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and LIMS systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to follow lab safety procedure and good lab practices
