Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Gas Analyst to join the Europe Gas Markets team, within our Global Gas & LNG research practice.
Our Europe Gas Markets team delivers industry-leading research and consulting based on our assessment of Gas Market fundamentals.
The Gas & LNG research practice at Wood Mackenzie leverages unique, proprietary information and modelling to serve clients, and together we work with a range of clients including national and major oil companies, utilities, investment banks, and institutional investors.

Main Responsibilities
As part of the Europe Gas Markets team, you will deliver world-class Research, Data, and Insight including detailed European market fundamentals, prices, contracts, investment trends, projects and corporate insights, ranging from coverage of current market events through to the role of gas and gas assets in the energy transition.
- Build and develop high-quality research and leverage your analytical expertise and subject knowledge of European Gas Markets
- Provide analytical insights about short-term and long-term gas fundamentals and gas pricing in Europe
- Work with the broader gas team (for global consistency) or other commodity teams (like power, coal, carbon).
- Engage regularly with clients, including senior executives
- Identify and collect new data and ensure that these are stored appropriately in the relevant WM databases and systems
- Lead the creation of new written and data-driven research in natural gas trading, piped and LNG terminals infrastructure dynamics, and corporate themes.
- Build and maintain contacts with key players in the industry; develop research and commercial relationships
- Coach less-experienced team members, fostering an open, innovative, and dynamic team environment
- Work with colleagues in Sales and Consulting teams to drive business opportunities
- Support our view of gas infrastructure in Europe such as gas pipelines and storage
Qualifications
You have been directly involved in a commercial gas-related role with an industry participant. You have industry knowledge and enthusiasm for analysis.
You are passionate about what you do and the quality of your work makes you credible with clients. You enjoy the development and implementation of modelling and integrated scenario problem-solving.
You have an analytical and quantitative mind, an eye for detail and an ability translate your analysis into clear coherent messages for costumers.
You have planning and organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload. You are proficient in analytical tools (such as Microsoft Excel) and handling large datasets.
Knowledge of Power BI and Power Query will be considered a further advantage
