The Senior Process Engineer- plastics (m/w/d) will be responsible for leading and executing projects related to the design and development of plastic medical devices, ensuring that the products meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements. This will involve working closely with cross-functional teams such as R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain. This role will collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and Value engineering (VAVE) teams on new products and cost savings projects. This position is an onsite role located in Munich with a potential for hybrid working.


In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, with a focus on medical device industry requirements and validation processes.

  • Provide technical guidance to project teams and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.

  • Develop and implement processes and tools to improve product quality and efficiency, with a focus on medical device industry requirements.

  • Identify and evaluate new materials, technologies, and processes to improve product performance and competitiveness, with a focus on medical device industry requirements.

  • Ensure that all design and development activities are following industry standards and regulations, including medical device industry requirements and participate in part and mold design reviews, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems using problem-solving processes.


The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in manufacturing: Mechanical, Plastics or Manufacturing / Process Engineering.

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in plastics tooling and manufacturing processes.

  • Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams: R&D, quality, regulatory, sourcing, manufacturing operations.

  • Understanding of validation requirements and processes applicable to the medical device or other regulated industry.

  • English (B2) and German fluency required.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Packaging. 

  • Medical device experience (ISO-13485).

  • Project management certification - PMI.
